I have read and read and I get a lot of suggestions but I can not make up my mind on a new cam.
The motor is a 1968 YC 400 bored +.030 with #15 heads (stock valves but new valve job with seals and double comp springs)) all new bearings and fully balanced with original rods and new 4 relief pistons, Edlebrock performer intake and 1407 carb, new Petronix HEI ignition, Summit headers into H-pipe and full 2 1/2" exhaust, TH350 with shift kit and new 2000 stall converter, posi rear and 3.42 gears. I have new comp roller rockers and pushrods. All engine acessories and power robbing devices are still connected with power brakes also. Suspect C/R at least 10:1?? I would like a cam that will give good street performance and fuel economy, will not be taken to the strip. i just want a great feeling street machine. I have looked at the Summit K2801 cam and the Crane powermax 272-2 cam and either sounds good. What are your suggestions?? Thanks for all the excellent help you have here!! |
