MANY years back I also worked for a local auto parts company. We also had the WIX comparo display on the counter - quite eye opening. I switched to AC-Delco filters for a few years because none of our current suppliers carried them. Now that O'Reilly carries WIX I decided to use the 51049 (same filter as the 1049 NAPA) on my new engine since AC-Delco doesn't produce the PF31 long style filter for Pontiacs any more. I believe I'll stay with the WIX, but like Steve C. said the FRAM HP line is a completely different animal than their standard filter line, so I wouldn't have a problem using a HP2.

Maybe I missed it but did anyone cut the HP2 open and compare to the WIX or NAPA filters?
What are the part numbers on those filters that are comparable in size, capacity and flow to the HP2?
I have run HP2's on my 9 sec injun, 2) 11 sec injuns and am running 1 on my new blower injun. About 13 years now with no injun failures.

Run a WIX and forget about it - If you don't like Wix then just run what you have had luck with! All this bull about filter then you let some dummy drive you car and its junk!!! Look at the overall picture!! Or are you guys turned on by oil filters.............. Joe
