Well they don't rebate the 3" offset/offset muffler series #17229. It's only certain series #s. So make sure your getting the right muffler to qualify.

I use the pypes 3 inch system with Dougs Headers, summit exhaust cutouts, and 3 inch Dynomax mufflers and I gotta tell ya I would NOT go back to my old flowmasters if you gave em to me for free. My neighbors HATED me, and I would get a headache they droned so loud in the f'ing car driving down the road at 75 mph. This was also with RA II HO manifolds and only 2.25 inch pipes. No crossover. The 3 inch system moves so much air it isnt funny, and sounds so incredibly good I can hardly stop grinning when I fire it up. Idle is sweet, like a tiger purring, and opening it up, well lets just say all you can hear at the end of the 1/4 mile run is someone else crying! It sounds like a racinfg machine at WOy and has such a nice over all tone, my neighbors NEVER say a word now!

Me and my dad put on a pypes 2.5 with x pipe and cut outs and they have a nice rumble at idle and when you step on the gas it sounds so nice, and I also will not go back to my 40 series flowmasters. I recomend these mufflers to everyone.
thanks for all your help

Trent,

Happy I saw your post. After reading all of the comments, I've just ordered the same setup for my 78 TA.

Thanks,
DMark

They flow fairly well and sound more like the original 60s systems. I like them for a street car.

I think the Super Turbos sound great. They are not too loud but provide a nice growl at idle.

For street use, Flowmasters are too noisy for me and with Super Turbos you can actually carry on a conversation with someone outside the car while it is running.

I love my Dr. Gas X and welded Ultraflows. Runs almost the same as open headers and is QUIET!

So are they rebating the 3" offset-centers? Got a new project going.
