Troy,

To use the alt kit on the pass side you have to shorten the spacer due to the location of the pass head relative to the face of the block. It sits further forward than the drivers side. Other than that it should get you where you need to be.

Thanks Wade..I thought about that too. It appeared that alt. was all ready to close to head to do that. I'll try again when I am not pressed for time....have race tomorrow night...

I think I have a manual steering box I can use to..

CSI gets my vote also. Four years running but not a whole lot of street. I used spacers behind alternator brackets to the block. I'm also running a underdrive pully though.

I used the CSI for several years without a problem. Then I switched to a motor plate that mounts between the waterpump and the timing cover and the CSI wasn't going to work in my opinion due to the small hole for the impeller in the motor plate. I switched to the Meziere and have run it for two years without any problems. I believe both pumps would work fine in an application without a motor plate that mounts between the water pump and the timing cover.

Troy, my alternator is about an 1/8" away from my head but I use the factory rubber boot to insulate it from touching without any problems. I have spares if you need one.

Thanks Bill...I have roasted my wrist several times by grounding my watch on the + terminal on the alt...insulater would help in many ways..
Still not sure if there is enough room even if I shorten spacers..Power steering got to go !!

Hey 60Man, I know what your talking about. I really got lit up a couple years back shorting out the alternator. It melted my wristwatch band clean in half. Both pieces melted in to the skin and clung there. I had to pull both pieces out of the skin. Just another battle scare these injuns put you through...

Yep...hurts like hell..It melted mine along with the skin. Band was welded to the stud on the alternator..Kill swicth helps a lot if I can remember to "kill" it.
