The first one, I do not really remember. I don't think it was the gears, it just didn't start all of a sudden and had no spark. It wasn't the coil or anything, which I had tried changing, I forget. The gears weren't torn up. It looks to be the rotor, when I spun it, the little points did not line up when they passed by. I know I have electronic ignition, so I am using that term loosely; they were pointed objects. I don't know much about distributors, just that they crapped out on me; this was just a rebuild/replacement, that I had under warranty, and got another replacement for now....Sorry, I don't know exaclty what the part name was that went the second time around. Grr.
