Our GP ended yesterday but you can call us on Monday we will give you the details and we will still honor it. You can check here for more details: www.ClassicChevy5Speed.com. Tom- I am glad you like the McLeod shifter - all of the feeback has been very good so far. Keep testing it and keep us informed. The next release of these shifters features a beefier offset stub as well as a red anodized base plate/turret and a gold plated cap and stub to pretty it up a bit.

I've got 500 miles on my TKO600 in my '66, and I have to say that it was by far the best mod I did to my car........
I am interested in how the McLeod shifter works with a '66 console. I have the offset Tremec shifter in there now, and the stick is in the right position, but there is no way that the console shift bezel will clear the stick/bolts. FWIW, these things were tight with the stock shifters, so I know that at least I will be modding the bezel a bit to work, but I want it to appear as close to stock as possible! Has anyone put a '64-'66 console on top of one of these yet? |

The Mcleod offset shifter will fit underneath your console. It is much sorter than the stock Tremec shifter. If I can dig out a picture I will forward it to you.

I just got the McLeod shifter for my new TKO 600 and it has a much more solid / better feel than the stock shifter. The only problem is that it lacks a rubber boot to seal out debris from getting down through the shifter and into the trans. I solved this by slipping the boot from the stock shifter over the McLeod shifter.

No problem Phil. Thanks for the kind words. Th epart that broke on the other guys shifter was the offset stub - the guy actually snapped the hardened steel in half! The main part of the shifter was fine. I have not heard of any other issues - just the one.
The new version of the shifter is the same except is has a beefier stub to handle the heaviest abuse. Rattus - you did the correct thing with the rubber boot - the cap on the McLeod shifter was designed to use the Tremec rubber boot.

Well, my car isn't exactly an economy car (520+ HP) but it sure helps when going to cruises and shows which require taking the highway. At 70-75 mph my car is revving around 2300 rpm +/- 100 r's with my 3.73's vs before with my 4 speed it revved around 3500+ rpm.
