tom- that's on motor...383 LT1, hydraulic roller, ported stock heads, lots of gear and lots of clutch. i used to launch it at 5000 (shifted at 6500) and i think kiddi is leaving even higher than that on the slicks. the car was full weight with a/c, leather, t-tops and full interior when it got on the boat for iceland. i'm not sure if he's taken any weight out or not.

Interesting thread as I'm considering a TKO 600 for my car right now.
I'd pretty well decided to go auto after burning up clutches last season but just can't bring myself to give up the standard. I think I'll be pushing the 650 tq/hp rating on the Tremec and will hopefully be in the 10s next year. The WFO Heim joint clutch linkage I saw in HPP looks to be an excellent upgrade to go with the 5-speed. Anyone using this yet? |

Hell, I've had 12.8s w/ my G&G ST-10 & my old 400 combo.
Can't wait to see what the 440 will do!

I would hope a TKO 600 could handle much more than 11.67. |

I am quite surprised that your ST-10 has survived. I made quite a mess out of one of those with a 400 small block Chevy that was never even power shifted . . .

Posted an 11.80 e.t. two weeks ago and as of last sunday at Atco My new best is 11.475 at 123.9 with a 1.75 60'. What was different? Launch ... went to the boards on the second yellow and let er fly on the third. Knocked two tenths off 60' and dramatically improved R/T,s at .050, .o69, .261, and red lit in second round, oh well! Launching like this can be a lot more consistant than it would seem. The car loved it and with some more dialing in and tuning We may see tens early next year.

What rpm was that before and after and are you still doing this on BFG Drag Radials?

JYD, I know you are very interested in the TKO. You might also ask what clutch people are using and launch RPM/tires. The Ram HD uses a sintered iron disc. My best 60' was 1.75 with my crappy 1st(2.20). I would think 1.6's would be possible with the TKO. -FWIW -Jim

I used to hold it at 4000 and dump it but didn't find the sweet spot between blazing the hides and falling on its face. On 295 65 15 BFG DRs it always fell on its face. With this launch I don't know what the RPMs are yet, I just kept doing ith the same. Same tires still lots of room for improvement but im on the right track. It actually works really well apparently try it and give me some feedback. JYD just get a TKO , Youll love it! And I know my 60s are going to get better... finally. In fact buy mine so I can get a TKO 600. Ray

By "went to the boards" I imagine you mean you floored the gas, so the rpm must have shot through the roof! Do you have a rev limiter?
