I have one of these nos... I think, Pontiac just did not want to service all these #s, so they just carried 1. I do have two #9099s, but both used..
Some on the board prob. have some nos ones...

my 1971 parts book lists the 7029099 as correct for 1970 raIV and the 7041094 as correct for the 71 455HO. my 74 parts book shows the same except it subs the 7041094 for the 7040097 on non ra cars in 1970. hope that helps

The 9099 was the original part for the 69 and 70 RAIV's. The 1094 was the original part number for the 71 455H.O. and was also listed as a replacement for a couple of other applications including the 66 Tripower.

Default Anyone know what this one is for?

What is the correct application for one that has 9097 crossed out & 9098 below it? Looks like the '68 - '71 4 bbl style to me...

Wow I had no idea these were so rare. I just picked up an original crossover with the choke on it so I need to check out the number. I didn't even give it a look.

Uncle Judge, don't you have lots of time during those long Wisc winters to get those cars done? Your right about the addiction too. Might as well go all out or not at all.

Fellas -

Curious to hear if anyone has more info/details on the elusive 9099 choke.

Uncle J says 8097 crossed out + stamped 9099 = 69 RAIV and 9099 = 70 RAIV. Makes sense to me but if you've got more info/pics/details/thoughts/wild-a$$ed-guesses I'm all ears.

Thanks,

Scott

Have seen what Jeff was referencing with one original RAIV intake/ choke stove I owned and have seen it at least once more on a 30 K mile original '69 WW engine I was intrusted to disassemble & get to Len to ck out the block & heads. Might get a few digital pics of originals from Jeff so you can compare fonts. With the aid of the fellow who recreated the 9097, might be able to create one.

EDIT: I went back to first page of this thread & indeed, jeff provided pics of both versions. duhh!

Dug into my photo archives for pics of an intake that I had in 2006. It's got the 9099 stamped on the end and if you look closely (sorry for the poor quality) it looks like something was crossed out above it. I had two RAIV intakes at the time, but looks like this crossover came with the 9/9/69 dated intake.

So, if you have a 8097 you basically have a 9099 that didn't make it to a RA IV in 69.
