Racer81x thanks for taking the time and sharing those old pictures of your Dads old Ram2 2tone Bird. Looks like a real sleeper.
I could see about any early camaro SS or Z28 wanting to pounce on that car.

Just as a tip for in the future about scanning old polaroids, my first ones came out that way too. There is an option before it makes the scan - to fit the size to the full pane. They come out a lot bigger and better that way, no gaps around the edges.

Hope that Bird turns up again for you guys.

Column shifted ones were the first ones to get butchered modified or parted out around here in the 80's and 90's.

Thanks for the tip, I had never used the scanner much at all for old pics, but will know for next time

I'll ask my dad this week what options he ordered on his 2 tone car and share the info, I know he said it had 3.90's in the rear and he swaped them out with 4.56's.
He said he had raced 5 or 6 396 375HP camaros when he was in college in OK, and smoked every one of them!

A friend and I took our cars to work and could not pass up this photo opportunity. His 455 and new tires get me off the line. My bird is wearing bald bias ply tires from 1979, but once over 35 I reel him in. I bet it was a sight to see these old cars tearing down the back roads.

I took my son for his first ride this year and he said it goes like a rocket.

34 year old tires?
yikes!
a friend who was a GM engineer coined the phrase for those tires(when new even)
"unsafe sitting in the driveway"
Glad to see it still getting a good workout tho. Just be careful, both you and car are irreplaceable.

The color looks great with that body.
Pretty sure its the first 68 Bird i've seen that color.
Seen a few 69's with it.

Thanks for the picture !
Do you have any old pictures of it from back when ?

I agree with Cammer , might be time for a spare set of wheels and some new tires.
If you're wanting to preserve the vintage stuff/look.

Great car man.

i had a pro street 71 trans am back in the 80's that i was running 4:56 gears with a stick and it would pull the front wheels in first and bounce them going into second. it was running mid 11's on the street.

Exhaust manifolds, too?

Or Pontiac knew these were race cars so they skipped that...?

Never heard that Truman's FB came with RAII heads in the trunk?

He told me that that his brother and him ordered thier cars in November 67 and recieved them in mid Dec. Never seen or heard of any RAII head cast that early.

Maybe he'll post again, would be interested in reading the specifics.
