Substantial more or less? The truth is that the 2.5" exhaust and 2 chamber Flowmasters are already so loud that listening to the stereo is out of the question. Ha! Taking the time to re-introduce the VOE is cool. best of luck. Dan

Multiply your DMH style exhaust cutouts by at factor of 2 minimum and possibly as high as three times with all the other parts.
Still to have one of the first 6 sets of Gen II VOE parts (Hand Built) made in the world is pretty good. I am happy and I am happy that others will be able to enjoy the Gen III VOE stuff in the future. Tom V.

Right you Tom V.
Dan, every time I drive my Barracuda I think about how cool this option really was and how amazing Pontiac was to introduce it. Had they had then what we have now, the mufflers would still be on cars and working. Colin, it is fun to mess with people with the car. I can sit at an intersection next to folks that have their windows down and I'll switch modes. Some look over but many try not to. I can rev it a bit when it is deathly quiet and then open it up and do the same. I close them and do it again. I am sure most are trying to figure out how the sound level is changing and not the engine speed but only a couple have asked what is happening. I am most amazed at how sweet it really sounds in both modes. Having only an 11.0:1 compression 340 with an X crossover and 2.25" tailpipes really tames my exhaust note compared to your all's big Pontiac 400s and 455s but it still has around 10 dBA difference and that is really a lot. Soon, I will get a better recording and post it on YouTube. For now, you can listen to the ones from Waldron or the ones on the true VOE GTO I posted previously. I hope future buyers have as much fun with them as I am. ![]() ![]() Tom

Cool!!!
I'm kinda stuck with the electric cut-outs I now have and have no regrets. The bottom line is that it is cool to ease into a private parking lot or the local Sonic and "open" it up! Idle around and when it comes time to pull back onto the street, close the "thump" and driveoff................

Hi all,
You can see and hear the Waldron's VOE-2 mufflers on our website at www.waldronexhaust.com You can also see pricing there. The "standard" control kit is currently available. The control switch, under-dash mounting bracket and vacuum reservoir in this kit are not an exact match to the original "Pontiac" VOE parts. A "concours" Pontiac control kit is being developed, but we don't have final prices or availability yet. I put our first protoype set on my 71 GTO to make the videos and test the control packages. These things are a blast! Joe |

We've begun deliveries of our VOE-2 systems and we have some new additions to the product line.
We are calling this our "Driver Controlled Exhaust" (DCE) product line. Our reproduction of the original 70 GTO version is the "VOE-2" model. The following NEW sizes and configurations can be ordered now and will be available in January:
These are being added to our online catalog in the next day or two. Prices start at $319 per muffler. Two 14" mufflers with a standard control kit start at $700. The standard inlet and outlet configuration is 2 1/4" by 2 1/4", and other diameters are available (up to 2.5" at this time). You can hear them here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSEvVso21pM They sound even better live than they do in the video! We also provide pre-bent pipes to fit most domestic cars and trucks from 1909 to 1980. We can configure a complete exhaust system with our DCE mufflers. Joe www.waldronexhaust.com |

tom, i have had a customer for years, nicknamed luke duke, who daily drives a 69 cuda small block car.
he rigged a twin turbo setup on it feeding alky into a quadrajet carb! every bit of the car is handmade (and it shows). but it runs 10.20's all day at 130mph and i see him driving it daily; it's his only car.
