If a black roof would match my car, Id put one on in a second.

Just got a 66 LeMans Sprint 6. First Pontiac I've ever owned, so this should be fun. The car is in great shape with only surface rust being found.

Nice find...Was the price right?

EDIT - a sprint with A/C & a manual trans - really nice find. 3 or 4speed?

I got it from my Father-in-Law after about 5 years of negotiations. He let me have it for $500.00 if I would get it out of the garage it's been sitting in since about 1977. I've been drooling over this car since the first time I saw it.

And you are correct, factory A/C and a 4 Speed with the Hurst shifter.

NICE...very nice! Congrats! Love the rear end of the 66 LeMans...those curved tailights, that chrome strip that runs along the trunklid...sweet!

Nice colour - what about the interior, is it blue as well?

Ive been going back and fourth about changing mine to GTO taillights for years. I cant decide becuase I feel the same way. The back end of that car is too cool to mess with.

Yours has a hood scoop, right?

Either way, I wouldn't mess with that back end...love those curved lights. The 66 GTO taillights are way cool also...but I'm loving the LeMans!

Right.....

I got lucky with this one, and don't plan on letting it slip away too easy..

And I will be coming back often for help and tips.

I know the feeling. Mine was free & I'll never sell it (however I do have a lot of $$ in finishing it). Too much sentimental value.

More info in my resto thread: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=516826

Here is my 67 Lemans.
Bought it 5 years ago from Original owner with 64000 miles. Grew up 1 mile down the road from this car.
Only changed rims and tires. Now has 72000 miles on it.

Thumbs up Skeeters Diamond in the Rough...

Skeeter, I meant to post this before.
Hopefuly insperation for you

Your 66' caught me as I know of one exactly(color & condition) like yours in my area that I am keeping my eye on. I saw this one up for auction so I've kept a copy of the pic to remind me of the local 66'

Are you aware of the OHC boards?
If not here is a link.

Cheers

Now that I have wiped the tears from my eyes,
knowing another Cammer is gone really hurts

Welcome aboard.

Do you still have the old OHC engine for her?

worry not my friend.that ohc 6 blew a headgasket from the car sitting so long it must have dryrotted.it got pulled at 40k and like all the original parts is in safe and dry storage for the future.one day im sure itll go back in along with the 2 speed trans and hubcaps, which reminds me,i have the rims and bias ply tires that i took off at 32k.the rims are gold,is that correct?or did somebody paint them.either way it looked real sharp way back with gold steel rims and the 65 gto dog dishes.wow now you got me thinkin,i miss it the way it was.ha
