Hello everyone,
I need to raise up my rear suspension about 2 inches. All 4 springs were just replaced as stock height. Does any one have part numbers and manufactures info I could use.
I found the Moog rear springs mc5399 are for the Tempest station wagon. I want the car to sit level to just a tad tail high. Any sugestions would be appreciated.

Did you use Moog springs as your stock replacements? If so, what # did you use?

Moog wagon springs work great and give it that tail up look with out going stink bug. Nice firm ride without doing kidney damage. Dont want to go too crazy on spring/ride firmness with a convertible or your frame and body start to flex too(much?). you can only go so radical with suspension on a convertible then the bondo starts chunkin out of the rockers and the doors get hard to open and harder to close.

The former owner used springs from Ames Performance, he used standard replacement front # s322, and he used convertable springs # s362 in the rear. The car is a hardtop with auto tranny and no a/c.

will not get a 2 inch height change using factory station wagon springs. must use a taller spring than that. look at spring catalog listings and height charts

Thanks, I lifted the back of the car with a floor jack and 1 inch over stock height may be the answer.

I have a set of Moog CC501? that I bought years ago for a 67 GTO rear that I never installed. They were supposed to be variable rate(?). I had used a set of those before and it gave it a nice set up in the rear, just a hair over the front. What most don't remember is that these early cars were way down in the rear when they were new. Take a look at some of the old TV ads for these cars. They look like the rear springs are worn out.

Thanks, Many car's of the 60's era were low sitting. The car does look nice stock height.

I have a '66 LeMans Convertibile and put in '66 LeMans station wagon springs. It lifted the car at least 1 inch from stock and slightly higher than the front. I used air conditioning springs in the front on a non-air car...just for a little extra height.

It's been 6 years..car still looks and drives good.
