I'm also looking for a few NOS parts for my TATA - Deluxe Dome light lense cover, Hood release bracket, speedo cable, if anyone can help that would be great
I sold the antenna although it took a long time.......I was flabbergasted
that no one responded to the ad from the TATA forum as these cars all had them and they
are unobtanium at this point. If I had a TATA I would purchase every one of these that came up for sale whether mine was busted or not......it is the hardest part to get for these cars.
I have several more of these antennas but I am saving them as spares for my car. Good luck
on finding one.

I just saw a repair kit for these antennas on ebay a couple of days ago. If someone needs it, I'll bet it's still there.

It also reminds me back in the day replacements weren't cheap. I think it cost me 175 around 20 years to have the dealer replace mine.

I cannot find a headliner for the TATA, can anyone help? I have tried a local shop, ebay, google search and Fbodywharehouse.com. No luck anywhere.

You will have to order a white headliner. Then die it with the light gray SEM plastic and vinyl die.

Good luck.

This is my 79 TATA after I bought it. It was buried in a field under 6' tall horseweeds.

This is after I brought it back home from the body shop last week.

It's a 400/4speed. The trunk floor, rear deck, floor pans and dash were all replaced. The hood, fenders and doors were just installed for transport. There's alot left to do but all of the cutting, welding and rust repair is finished. I'm going to do some work myself this summer and then take it back to the body shop in the fall.

Does anyone have the paint code for the top of the dash? Is the VIN painted the dash color or should it be black?

Here is my 403 car. The engine is original but someone put a TH400 in it, the carb is gone and the engine won't turn. The interior is trashed. The body isn't too bad but the passenger side quarter was replaced at some point and the tail panel and rear of the quarter don't line up with the tail light properly. It has also rusted through behind the passenger door. So it's basically a big ol' pile lol. But it is a TATA. If I fix it, it'll get modified and painted black, or if I come across a good deal on a better 79 I'll sell this one.

I just finished up on the 4 speed car and delivered it this week. When I dropped it off he wanted his 24k mile 403 car checked over. It has storage issues that need to be fixed...but man what a nice car. It does have one repaint but thats all I see.

The headliner is NOT sagging and it even has the factory plastic over the original shag carpet. Check out the pics....it even drives tight.

Just have to paint the back of the guage and other reflective green areas fluorescent red.

This works with all the guages. They all use clear bulbs, just have the red fluorescent paint instead of green.

Radio dial and heater controls get a little bit more complicated, but are doable.

Most any hardware store will have fluorescent paint in spray cans. I've sprayed it into the cap and used a artist brush to do the back of the guage face. Big parts I strip (take apart) and spray, like the inside of the cluster housing itself.

As long as things are clean you can paint right over the green.

I need to get my TATA steering wheel recovered. Can anyone recomend a good source. I know they are offering a repo but $500 is a bit too much. I am sure I could get mine recovered cheaper than that.

There is a company that specializes in just those. Hopefully, some one whose used them will post with their experience and quality. I can't even remember their name right now.

Thanks but I don't need it anymore. I went to another forum and got the info I needed in minutes! The wheel is on it's way to being restored.

Just off the top of my head, there was the press release, specific folder for the owners manual & a very cool single page magazine ad.

The local Pontiac dealer here got 4 of them (403 auto's) & I was there taking pics before they prepped them. (as I recall, the plastic was still on the seats)

Most of those TATA's were sold to speculators. For the next 10 years there was at least 5 low/no mile examples for sale in Hemmings every month.
