I saw a trans am on e-bay with red honeycomb rims. It looks sharp with the white body and red interior. Were they optional? I've never seen any others. If not, where would I get some? Could they be painted?
It's a white 79 t/a on e-bay. I couldn't figure how to attach the link. |

Honeycomb wheels were only available on 71-76 Firebirds/Trans ams
They were a steel wheel with a rubber (urethane) insert in the face. Snowflakes became the optional Firebird & Trans am wheel in 1977 (like on Bandit T/A's) They were available in various colors from Pontiac & are commonly repainted to match body color |

The "stock" colour of the snowflake wheel inserts was silver / gray: matching the inserts to body colour was an option, unless of course one bought either the "Blue Bird", "Red Bird", or "Yellow Bird" package, in which case(s) it was "automatic". Eddy Ontario, CANADA |
