Thanks Importsmasher, I'd like to see them if he has any.
Too bad GM and the countries where the RHD Goats are haven't kept track of them. And it's too bad there isn't a Registry of GTOs like there is for Shelbys. No clones but real honest to goodness GTOs from 64 to 73. With the RHD GTOs included.

I know it is not a GTO, here is a 68 RA I auto Bird originally exported when new Down Under & converted to RHD by Holden AU. It belongs to pontiaccollector. Very neat high optioned & well taken care of by it's previous owners. Bought new by a Woman. I was told the hood tach was shipped in the trunk along with all the ram air stuff. The original closed air cleaner came with the car (all 67 & 68 Ram Air cars came this way, some assembly required) & looks NOS.

WOW... that's the first RHD Firebird, of any year, I've ever seen. Looks nice.

I think a fella named Larry owned that Firebird in Oz.
You can still see the NSW rego sticker on the windscreen. |

The wiring has already been taken out from under the dash.
Can I connect the window switches directly to a car battery to wind them down? Is that what you are meaning? I took the hoodlining out today. bit of a messy job that was. crap everywhere. Tomorrow I will be back on the firewall. Little by little..... Gas |

Unplug the wire connector at the motor & put power directly to the motors, 1 terminal is up & the other is down, run the ground to the door. This will be the only way to do it.
This should do it, good luck. |

Got a bit more work done on it today...
Slowly but surely. No pics...as it isn't really interesting what I have been doing...photo wise. Just looking at the Vin and Plate Data tag Looks like my car was made in Pontiac,Mi in the second week of Oct 1967. Parchment coloured interior, with the body in Champagne Metallic with an Ivory Vinyl Roof. On the bottom of the Data Plate it says EXT 2ZGTV Then Body by Fischer then 11-1SC Do these mean anything??? |

Have been stripping the paint back to bare metal....So far the only rust I have found was at the bottom corner of the windscreen...and where the vinyl roof was was stapled on at the top of the windscreen. Under the vinyl is perfect...as is everywhere else I have stripped. So I'm very happy so far!
With aftermarket A/C units...what have you guys done? I'm looking at the vintage air stuff. Do you have any pics of your engine bay showing the setup of the brackets? What systems have you used? |

Been busy stripping the paint.
Hard to see in the pics though. Roof is done, rear quarters are both done, boot lid topside is done. One front guard is almost done. I am getting through is slowly. was a little overwhelmed when I first started...and had thoughts about just getting it blasted....but just got stuck into it the past few days and made some good progress. Still plenty to do though. Can anyone help with my questions above??? |

Cool...Looks like it's coming together nicely.
We will have to get together for a beer and a chat soon seeing we live one suburb away from each other. Greg |
