Do I need to get a special antenna?
I want to keep the 20" CRT tv in the back of my 1968 Bonneville Station Wagon. I have installed the correct 80 amp alternator and invertor, so we're all good in that department. (I have it straped in a FAT childs safety seat.) Will the Wabbit ears antenna I have on the car work, or do I need to go to a 12' full size antenna? Does anyone know the drag coefficients of standard Rabbit ear antennas versus 12 ft. long multi-element antenna? How much should I adjust my dial in ? Will cross winds affect it? I race up @ Douglas, Wyoming, it gets really really windy, is there a danger of the Station Wagon rolling over ? Pontiac Gregg

Carl, I HAVE tried the cable, but as it reels out the back of the car, the car gets lighter and I almost always break out !! So I switched to the antenna. Carl, you need to help me with ALL the questions !! Also, with the cable, I'd have to pay the disconnect/ reconnect fees everytime I go to a different track. Having the cable reel teched at check in time was a new and difficult problem for them, some times it take up to 5 mins. to tech it !!

I use the 12 footer on my GP. I put it as far back as I could. The wind is not an issue because the I have half inch cables securing it. It does make for some dandy wheel stands. Oh-I put the HD converter in the trunk next to the power inverter and battery.

The new Fiber Optic Cable is the only way to go so small you can really carry a big spool
no need to rewind, now I'm just talking me now no need to rewind,I'm picking a direction and going for it and not stopping- exept for red lights

You guys are old school. Ya gotta go with the dish. It'll work from inside the car so, no wind resistance....and you get lke 200+ channels!

You have a UHF-VHF-FM antenna mounted on the back of your truck!

Most of those won't work with your tv without a digital converter box.
![]() You need the stealth antenna: If you add the 30" wheels, you'll have directional capabilities, also. ![]()
