The first one in B&W looks airbrushed, but that second one (the white one with the striped on the roof) does look to have a pair of small headlights...far out.

That white '62 SD with turquoise interior has to be this one right?

Ok I couldn't find the original article but I knew I saved the pics. It is the same car. I guess someone else saved the ad also.

Something makes me think it was in car craft or something like that.

I found this link on a Buick site. I haven't gone through the whole thing but there's some cool ones. A Road Runner and a '57 150/210 along with some firebirds and stuff like that

Found this somewhere on the 'net. It's a photo I had never seen. I didn't even realize that Chrisman ever came to the east coat. The ET/speed in the caption is pretty much as quick as they ever got the twin-215 dragster to run.

Default Swiss Cheeze

Attached is a picture of Ray Bisig's 1963 Swiss cheese 1963 Catalina RAV powered race car. The car ran well into the 11's. Ray has always a been, run what you brung kinda a guy going fast on a limited budget. Ray is a long time family friend and a Pontiac purest. He was fortunate enough to get a hold of Pontiac history in it's glory day's. The was once one of Arnie's cars.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Didn't Pete discover the car in the late 60's from the original owners widowed wife? Pete worked for Pacific Bell at the time, in collections, and visited the widow for severely past due bills. She mentioned her late husband's Pontiac and Pete checked it out. He negotiated that he would cover the past due balance in exchange for the car.

GonicGM , That's the story I remember but I don't remember it being Pete McCarthy as the one that found it. But it was a pair of guys that found it, they decided to sell it after a while.

This gto was raced on the street and track ( Norwalk, Drag Way 42, and Marion,) Ran high 11s in the 1/4 parked on Blocks in 1977, Till I bought it in 2007, Most of the time the car had Ram Air iv in it. I have all the race stuff but for now I have a 1965 421 in it Hope to have done for Tripower National in Norwalk in August. It will be as raced in the day. I remember this car as a kid just tearing up the street. The GTO is was one of the reason I got hooked on Pontiacs as a kid. I only have two pictures of this car at the track. If anyone has any please contact THANKS!

Rocky Rotella wrote that article for HPP. If you look at the magazine, you'll note my name next to the old ad from Hot Rod, I scanned it and sent it to Rocky.

just found this picture of my uncle's 66. it had a 400, #48d-ports that he cleaned up. a 66 tri-power, m-22 4 speed, 12 bolt w/4.56 gears. it i remember right it ran around 12 flat at 111 mph. he raced it locally at sunshine dragstrip and a strip in oldsmar(shut down many-many moons ago)
the great thing about this picture is the trailer being used is a homemade trailer that he built in late 1970 and i just used today to take my brothers car to the dragstrip. still tows like a dream.

What a neat piece of history! But please do us a favor! Get some jack stands and put under the car before you work under it and get those cinder blocks out from under there. I've lost a good friend who was working on a car while jacked up on cinder blocks. Jack stands are cheap as compared to one's life.

Thats how the car was in the garage for 30 years. They were going to tub the car out, jacked the GTO up pulled the rear end, pulled the motor, and he could not bring himself to cut the car up, so it sat like that till 2007, Thats the first thing I did so it could put the rear end back in it was put it on jack stands. We had a local guy here around 1977 who was working on a 1966 mustang that was on blocks the blocks shifted car fell on him he lost his life as well. Great advice! THANKS!
