Thank's for sharing with us fvgramps. I have also seen the car, being friends with RAIV70TA is how I saw it, and it is coming along nice. I had my 10 yr old son with me that day, I wanted to make sure he got to see it also.

The Lucy. Blue car that was at the Holyoke show years ago is a real HO 455 conv. That car is in Vermont. The previous owner added the stripes and spoiler.That is the car that has been talked about previously on this thread.

Wow: Where do I begin? I didn't check the boards all weekend and had a crazy busy day at work today and decided to check it just before leaving the office...I'm still here drooling over this news!!! WELCOME to the forum Gramps!!! Thank you so much for hanging on to that car all these years and preserving what has to be one of Pontiac's greatest cars ever built.

If you start reading these forums you'll soon learn that I am a fool for Lucy Blue Judges -and this one just leaves me weak in the knees. I had a Lucy Blue Judge clone for a while that has been posted and discussed on these forums and also on The Ultimate GTO Picture Site (TUGTOPS). I sold it and it now lives in Norway. My frist car when I turned 16 was a Lucy Blue LeMans. I've been lusting for a Lucy Blue Judge ever since.

Ditto what everyone else has said - can't wait to see more pictures and learn more about this car and hopefully meet you at a show this summer. Wow, too cool!!! Thanks again for sharing your story.

I believe car # 17 on the list is in Georgia and recently underwent a frame off restoration. I'm told that it was found in NJ and had received an amateur restoration in Colorado prior to that. I have a photo of it on my office PC. It was restored here in the Atlanta area and I understand that it is still owned by a local collector here. Counting Milt's car, that would be two of the seventeen in Georgia! I heard that there was possibly a third car in Georgia, # 14 on the list I think. I'll post a pic of what I think is the #17 car when I get to work tomorrow.

I just noticed this thread tonight.

Do anyone know if any of the 71 Judge convertibles were sold in Charlotte NC area? In the early/mid-80s, I ran into a guy at the Metrolina fairgrounds swap meet in Charlotte who claimed to have a complete 71 455HO motor that he was running in an older GTO.

The guy was carrying around a 71 ram air air cleaner trying to sell it. I had a 70 Formula at the time, so I knew what it was. It had the double hot air tubes on the bottom, so it had to be a 455HO air cleaner.

He claimed it came off of a 71 Judge convertible, which he bought it after it had been badly wrecked and stripped it. I tried to get him to show me his car and the engine, but he balked. I gave him my phone number, hoping to get any usable parts that might be left over, but he never called.

Thanks for posting the car #17. I always wondered what hapened to that car. It was for sale in Hemmings for a long time back in 2000. I called on the car back in August of 2000. Talked to a guy named Howie from NJ. He sent me pictures, and I ran the phs on car. It was the real deal.

But, as you described it just was poorly done restoration at the time. Wrong interior as it was mostly white, and a mix of sienna like dash(72), console, 8 track, pillars, etc. It had wrong booster from a 69, radiator shield from a 67. It was also freshly painted which looked like the wrong color with inside fenders painted black, and wrong color top. It was NOM, and with that many thing wrong what else?

Even Joe at Parts Place said it wasn't worth it! That was when I really didn't know him well, but since I was at his store and had the pictures with me I asked his opinion. I always thought he went and scarfed it up as I lost track of the car. I kick myself as all the things were fixable expect the original engine. It was for sale for $59.5K with 55k miles!

I ended up buying the car listed above it in Hemmings. A White 71 GTO 455 HO, RA, M22, 12 bolt posi, numbers matching car with AC and 8 track from Texas. We all know were that one went too.

Very cool connection Mike! How cool is it that both of those cars wound up in Atlanta? The owner of the shop that did the restoration (Jerry Burge - Atlanta Rod Shop - Doraville, GA) told me back in August that it was a numbers matching car, but based on the ad posted in Hemmings back when you were looking at it - it was a NOM car? Sounds like somewhere between then and when Jerry got it, somebody restamped something?? Jerry told me that the car is owned by a guy who owns the business next to his restoration shop - I don't know his name.

Thanks for sharing your side of the story - very cool. (By the way, the phone number in that Ad in Hemmings is the same one that I traced down to the Texas owner I was able to contact on my car - very neat!)
