I live in Edgewood just outside the Squirrell Hill tunnels.
Car is gunmetalgray metallic. Cheap enamel paint job, but looks way better than when I bought it in tan primer. Car looks black, dark blue, sometimes purple, depending on the light. I love the GTA rims on my car. It handles much better and braking is vastly improved. I hit a little pulling into my driveway but not during driving, except on some huge Pittsburgh area potholes, but you already know about them. I currently have Yokohamas on it and they work great. I usually run BFGs on everything. Hotchkiss 1 inch lowering springs because you really can't go lower in Pittsburgh. I plan on upgrading the brakes to all disk when I upgrade the suspension to all tubular and AirRide when I get some body work and new paint in a year or 2...hopefully. Car has Super T-10 4 speed out of 78 TA. Was originally a 3-speed on the floor. Going to a 5 or 6 speed and 9 inch probably next Summer since I will probably need them both. Suspension is poly, even the body bushings. Front sway bar is 1 1/4 from TA. Can't wait to get it back on the road, even if it is winter. |

worry not my friend.that ohc 6 blew a headgasket from the car sitting so long it must have dryrotted.it got pulled at 40k and like all the original parts is in safe and dry storage for the future.one day im sure itll go back in along with the 2 speed trans and hubcaps, which reminds me,i have the rims and bias ply tires that i took off at 32k.the rims are gold,is that correct?or did somebody paint them.either way it looked real sharp way back with gold steel rims and the 65 gto dog dishes.wow now you got me thinkin,i miss it the way it was.ha

...you had the insight to keep the ol' cammer
![]() They have make quite a comeback in recent years. Your rims may be correct with the gold paint, do you know if your 67' had dogdish caps? This Ol' 67' cammer has (hard to see) Gold rims/wheel with DD caps. PS, Didn't I see that wagon for sale sometime back?

I thought I would post some pics of my 67 GTO going under a full restoration.
I have own this car since 1982 when I was in high school. I am he third owner and it was bought locally new. As I got older and graduated I wanted to be a big shot so I bought a new car and left this sitting. The car always ran great and I loved this car. I have restored so many cars but never got around to this one so it was time I gave the car the respect it deserves. The car has a solid trunk. Floors looked solid but has pin holes. No rust around front or rear windows The car has been disassm. New floor installed, L/S wheel well quarter was piece patched from a new quarter panel due to prior accident from original owner in the early 70's. R/S outer wheel well and trunk extention replaced due to same accident. New NOS tail light panel installed due to pin holes aound the tail lights. I will post more pics as the work progresses. I decided to have a local shop do the full restoration due to the fact that now I am older with a family and have no time do do this myself. |

RedDirtRoad:
Is that your car before the body off? The more i see the ralley 1 wheels the more i want them. Will you be painting the same color and replacing the vinyl roof?

The pic of the car I have in my post is actually a car I saw on ebay for sale..My car is identical to it. It came with rally I's, Silverglaze met paint, black vinyl roof. I was disappointed I never took a pic before I started to disassm it so I used that pic just as a reference. I restored many A bodies, GTO's and Chevelles. I know these cars like the back of my hand.. I am sure there are others that still know more then me. I know enought to be dangerous!
I included a pic of where he car was bought new, 15 miles from my home. |

Here's photo of my 66 Tempest Sprint Sports Coupe Post back in the day. Photo was taken in August 1968. I bought the car new in May 1966 after waiting 2 months for it. 3:55 Saft-T-Track, 3 speed, AM radio, seat topper, glove box light and trunk light. That was it. Ran low 15's at Drag Way 42 and Thompson Speedway. Used to really upset the 283 Chey guys to get beat by a "6". Later in 1968 head problems and the fact it was out of warranty, lead to the installation of a 67 GTO 400 Ram Air III with a 65 tri power and a Muncie 4 speed. Then the fun on the street really began. Sold it in 1970 for $650, at that time the OHC-6 was long gone and the car had about 90,000 miles on it.

still new on posting pics, plus can't get to them at work. so instead heres the link to a few i have at photobucket. need to get the good clean car pics on yet. but you will get the idea.
67 LeMans 326 3sp on the floor. numbers matching car. http://s702.photobucket.com/albums/ww26/iowa552slow/ Seen a barn door in the ditch as a forsale sign on my home one day. stopped that night and bought the car the next day. all i have done is put different wheels and tires. and lowered the car back to stock height. the car has camaro front spring to stiffen the front up with a 1" drop. I am the third owner. the purple car is it modern cousin. 04 GTO 6 speed. (I still prefer to drive the '67) |

On photobucket, click on the image, another screen will come up. On the far right hand side at the bottom, click that option (it'll say to copy this photo onto a website forum or whatever) then right click that here...and you're good to go. Hope that helps...
