My video camera is SO outdated I prolly won't bother with a video, but I'll be snapping away with my digital camera, LOL!

The car is still sitting in Gary's garage as I type this, so we're stil waiting for the pickup. I'm hoping it's here by next Tuesday, or no later than Wednesday.

I just pray that the weather is nice when they drop it off - I wanna drive it!

If you need a little eye candy, just check out Peter Shirley's white car without trim rings. Sweet! Best color for the "no trim ring" look. I guess because it makes it look like a 70.

I wish there was a way to run them off and on with out the ring scratching the wheel. Looks like you get one chance..unless you use some type of rubber between the wheel and ring barbs.Then there is the chance of them falling off.

The rings really bite hard into the wheel.

For what it's worth, I don't think a 74 looks right with bias plys. They never came that way it makes them look too much like a 70. On top of that they ride like crap. You just can't beat the look of a BFG Radial TA.

How old were they?

This is a photo of one of mine that let go. It had about 500 miles on it...but it was 11 years old. Never drive on a tire older than 7 years.

that's interesting.when i was in highschool i worked after school at a tire shop.Rod taught me all kinds of crap about tires,more than i ever wanted to know as a teenager.anyway we wouldn't sell firestone tires because that happened all the time to them back then.it had to do with the way they bonded the plies together.they had just changed from one type agent to a powder bonding agent and it didn't work so well.

that is the first T/A's i've seen do that.

i'd have to check the dates on them, they failed on me two years ago, at the time i'd say they were between 5-10 years old. i bought them in nearly new condition (still had a bit of the nubs showing) on a set of rally IIs. i should take some pics, they have huge flaps of steel belting sheared off. ironically enough, due to lack of funds i reverted back to the goodyear eagle GTs mounted on turbo rims that were on the car when i bought it. i have receipts for those dated 1985 and don't worry about them a bit. they're hard as rocks of course.
