Paul, we went to the show last Friday, and just a warning, the show is VERY toned down this year. I read that due to the government bailouts, the manufacturers felt it would be bad for public relations to have extravagant displays (paid for by the taxpayers).
I took over 150 pics (aren't digital cameras great?), and several shots overlooking entire displays. Most of the GM displays are just cars sitting on carpeting. They said the theme this year was not smoke-and-mirrors, technology, or showcasing concept cehicles. The focus is on just trying to sell cars. Don't miss: - The area adjacent to the entrance (look on the map) that has the history of the auto show. Great pictures! - The ZR-1 Corvette (on the floor) - The 2010 Camaros (on the floor) - Chevy Volt (display) - Corvette Sideswipe Stingray (turntable) - just beautiful! - Dodge Challengers (turntable and some on the floor), and the Mr. Norm Challenger (on the floor) - A really cool looking Nissan GT-R, silver/black (display) - A wicked looking Mercedes SL65 Hammer (on the floor) I'll wait until AFTER the auto show to open up my photo account for all to see. Didn't want to ruin it for anyone by posting pics too soon....

Not too large of a vendor display this year. Everything is on one floor.
"Dub" wheel vendor, a die-cast vendor, misc car care products (like Sham-wow!), Illinois government-related booths, like DMV, State Troopers, Crooked-Governors-Donations (just kidding), etc. Volo Museum has a 69 SS396 Chevelle on display, and the Cruisin' Tigers have a 70 Judge on display! ![]() Also, the U.S. Army has a very large display, very cool.
