Default Catholic Fathers car

20 years ago I took a 2 door post lemans that was owned by Catholic church of Seattle and i cloned it when you could get GTO parts cheap! Factory black car with red buckets and radio delete. I did hood, core support, stab. bar front rear, quick ratio box, kybs, emblems, 4 speed, tilt, 64 wood wheel, 64 round bar, 64 tach, alum. dash insert, map light, remote mirror, 3.23 posi, pwr steering with quick ratio box, power brakes, splitters.I took a 455 and put dished pistons then ran everything on the top end to 64 gto, you name it, every hose line and bracket etc. Only stuff not correct are some bolt heads, timing cover, dip stick, 67 ho exhaust. SD performance ported the heads 245 cfm 65 tripower cam, quiet exhaust. Later I added 17 inch Cragars style wheels with bfg drag radials only because traction was not there period. I went thru great pains to to make look stock wiClick image for larger version

The wires in this car have gotta go and I will move a modern fusebox to the under hood area.
What size tire wheel combo you got, any rubbing issues?

Default Made a few upgrades to the Tempest lately.

Installed a new 8.5" 3.42 rear end, Eaton posi and 30-spline Moser axles. New adjustable upper and billet aluminum lower control arms from Currie Enterprises.

Added some 2008 Corvette Z06 rear disc brakes, matching front brakes will be installed soon. Rear rotors are 13.4", the fronts will be 14".

Also upgraded the wheels and tires for better cornering power, 18X9" rear wheels with 275/40-18 tires. No cutting or hammering was required, no wheel spacers were needed.

After the upgrades to the car are completed I'll probably trim the rear coils to drop it down an inch or two, right now there's no interior in the car.

Been going crazy with the Tempest lately.

Is that the pale blue color that was available then? Mine was the pale blue, and I'm thinking of going back with it eventually. Looks as good on your car as I visualized it.

Originally a 6 cyl 3 spd w/console. I have a '66 389 with Muncie 4 spd for it, all GTO trim, new blue interior, and a set of Drag Stars. Will be a couple years before I get to it:

Here's my '64 Wagon:

Was a one owner car until last year. Came from a mountain town near the CA border by Reno, NV. I have the first registration stub where it was registered in San Fransisco in '65

A few things done already:

-Dropped it a little in front, and threw on some rally wheels, wider tires, dual exhaust, rear brakes, and changed all the fluids.

-Rear bumper redone

-P/S system I took off my convertible, single piston disc brakes, and Airlift rear bags and compressor.

-700R4 transmission

-Changed front sheetmetal to better stuff, Steam cleaned and painted engine while sheetmetal was off. Went black on the engine so that it could be painted in the car.

-Seats redone

-Stereo

Dig the Offy covers. I have a set too, and they are seldom seen.

The hardest part was prying open my wallet, I'm a cheap SOB.

The brake kit I bought was pretty easy to put together, it was well-engineered so it was pretty much a bolt-in deal. The emergency brake cables will need a custom bracket, they're from Lokar and are actually made for a late T-bird. These were recommended to me by the guy who sold me the brake kit, they're a fairly easy to adapt to an A-body.

The Corvette has small internal drum brakes inside the rear rotors for the emergency brakes, my 2002 WS6 T/A has the same type of setup.

Default '65 Le Mans

Hello all. I'm a newbie here and a long-time Poncho fan/owner.
1965 Le Mans hardtop
326 2bbl, power glide
Bone stock survivor. Wheel covers are from my Grandma's '65 Tempest Sport Coupe, long since gone. I have had this one for about 20 years, never had a suitable place to tear it down and redo it, not that it needs it.
Highlights: Decent, original condition. PS, PB, factory A/C (needs R-12 or changeover), buckets w/console/floor shifter, had custom dual exhaust installed
Lowlights: Carb is so-so, engine is ugly, needs better stance.
