Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack any thread here, I was just too ignorant to know how to start a new one in this section...
![]() I'm just wondering if the choke pull off for a 73 trans am super duty is exclusive to the super duty or if it was the same for any other 4 barrel pontiac? Anyone know what the correct part number should be? I appreciate any help?? |

Jeff, The auto dimmer car is still around and its mounted on top of the drivers fender pretty close to the windshield. Does your car have any evidence of a rear power antenna like the one pictured here ?
I might have a picture of that car some where and will look for it. I dont recall the interior color option though ? Later, Brew |

Jeff, Maybe it was for an alarm. I remember seeing cars with an added alarm and there would be a key operated switch drilled into the drivers front fender.

Gregg, it's a different part. The SD pull-off operates much faster than the non-SD versions.

Yeah, Steve has a good thought there, and I bet he's right. Chapman probably?

Thanks for the info, any idea what the correct part number is for this 73 sd choke pull-off? Does it have a part#? Is it a different number for auto vs. manual? I appreciate it mucho.

Brew,
Chapman? What's chapman? A brand name for alarms? I've seen the auto dimmer car also, and it's just as you describe. If you find a picture, I'd love to have a copy. Steve, I'll bet you are right. No sign of a power antenna (or any antenna), but the quarter isn't original either. Was a power antenna available as factory option in 74? If so, wouldn't it show up on PHS? Same question for the body side moldings and door edge guards. Would either show up on PHS? I'm thinking that at least the door edge guards would, but all these options could have been easily added somewhere along the line, especially since the car was owned by the owner of the dealership that sold it.

The Door Guards I believe came with one of the trim paks and Im trying to locate but Im not to organized here Mld-sil & hood N33 I think ?

Door edge guards, as in those that are on the rear edge of the door were a stand alone option and were not part of any package. That goes for rear hood edge and door decor. Some say it was part of custom interior but it is not. It could be ordered with or without custom interior.

Can we expand on the exterior chrome trim options? Would they all be listed individually on the PHS? Fender, door surround, hood, are those the only three factory options?
Thanks, |

Need more information on this one since I have always been under the impression it was part of a group pack.
There are separate code option in my book (B93 988823)for it but heard years ago that the door edge guards where included in one of the trim packages???????? what are your thoughts ???????? |

Chrome around the hood edge, fender edge and top of doors is one option. Other moldings, trim etc are separate options. A good example is the brown 74 SD formula that just ended on ebay. The window sticker on that car shows all those options.

If I remember right there is a piece in that spot that is more stainless than chrome. It's part of what holds the weather strip in place.

Both of my 74 Formulas show the trim moldings as seperate options on my PHS. Roof moldings B80, Moldings wheel opening B96, Moldings body side B84, Moldings sill & hood B85, Guards door edge B93.

Here are a couple of those pictures regarding hardware on the fender braces.
Hope this helps, and looks like I need to get detailing before spring hits. Brew |

I don't see any pictures. You have to attach them you know? It doesn't work thru osmosis!

Those are bmp (bitmap) files.
You need to open them in a paint program.
