I don't know if it's repopped or not. Shouldn't be too hard to make one. I know I have one and the other may be out in the shop somewhere.

Inner fender look good. Any particular reason you choose to undercoat the underside?

No particular reason, Jerry. It's not regular undercoating. It's paintable and my bodyman did the whole car underneath with it.

Well, I am almost ready to crank the car. I sorta, kinda installed the dash and cosole harness. I also installed the his and her shifter, dimmer switch and the firewall relays.
I also modified my coil bracket so I could temporarily mount the coil to the head. When I get the correct bracket I will change it out. I hooked up 2 of the 3 ground straps. Can't hook up the third until I install the inner fenders. All total I spent 4 hrs on the car this week. Oh, before I forget it, I finally ordered my PHS.When I sent in the info I used an old insurance paper to get the VIN from. I wasn't even thinking when I did it. Anyway, I get a call from PHS asking what car I want the PHS on. I told them my 67 GTO vert. They asked why I sent a VIN for a 65. Then it hit me, the insurance paper was for the 65 GTnO I sold almost two years ago. And, I checked my totals for the last two weeks and they are wrong! 3/28 should be $18,261.17 and 4/4 should be $18406.17. Y'all need to check my math! Oh well, at least I have room for improvement. Here are the latest totals(I think): Labor @ 315 hrs................$6,300.00 Parts...............................$8,044.65 Outside Labor...................$3,425.00 Gifts..................................$716.52 Total............................$18,486.17

If you mean the motor that came with the car, yes. It runs great or at least it did when I pulled it. It's a 69 block with a 70 intake and carb. 67 670 heads.

Why, do you have a rebuilt matching number one you want to give me?

I don't know anything about the motor. It is probably bored because it was rebuilt. I think it is a stock cam. It idles smooth, no lope to it. I may call the previous owner and see what he knows.

Well, as you may have read in another post, I finally got the motor cranked this week. Anybody doing a rebuild themselves take heed to this bit of info; find TDC first, then install the distributor so the rotor points toward the steering wheel. I spent four hours and about $50.00 on ignition parts trying to get my cat started before I decided to. When I did, I found the rotor was 180 out. I pulled the distributor, turned it around and the car fired right up.
I had two water leaks, one at the sending unit and the other at the heater core inlet. Tightened the sending unit to fix that one and replaced the tower clamp on the heater core hose to stop that one. I also had a small gas leak at the fuel pump to carb fitting. Again, a little turn of the wrench and that one was fixed. The only other leak I found was a transmission cooling line fitting and all I had to do was tighten it. I reckon I need to eat my Wheaties before working on the car. I am adding a few pics. How do you like my custom interior? It came out of an 87 El Camino. I worked 11 hours on the car and spent $83.47 on parts. So, here are the latest totals: Labor @ 326 hrs................$6,520.00 Parts...............................$8,128.12 Outside labor....................$3,425.00 Gifts..................................$716.52 Total..............................$18,789.64

Phil,
I don't know how correct you want to be, but here is a picture of the correct pcv setup for reference. Charles |

Thanks for the picture. Does the hose going to the rear of the motor go to the PCV? If so, I can't be correct because my PCV goes into the valley pan in front of the carb. I have a 69 block with a 70 intake and carb. Also, where do you get vacuum for your distributor advance?

Phil,
PCV is in rear of valley pan. Vacuum feed from left rear stud. Charles |

Is the stud on the intake or carb? I am using a stud on the left front of my carb.

Phil,
The stud is in that picture above. Driver side rear mounting bolt is a hollow stud with a vacuum hose fitting on top. Charles |

Thanks. On a different note, is that the correct routing for the brake booster vacuum hose?
