Does anybody else here collect Pontiac Dealer Emblems? When we picked up our new GTO in 1972, the dealer stuck there emblem right above the trunk key hole to make sure everybody could see it. First thing we did when we brought the car home was to remove it. Fortunately it was stuck on with adhesive tape. To me, its kind of cool when I see these emblems still on a vintage Pontiac.

Show me your vintage Pontiac Dealer Emblems if you've got em.

I removed one from a car I bought years ago ...only because they sponsored a NASCAR Pontiac in the 60's...Believe it was the #6 car

My favorite dealership didn't use the little emblems; only a license plate frame:

Along those lines I did notice this on the back of my Grand Prix....very faintly, faded into the chrome (I highlighted it with Sharpy marker so that it would show up for photos and so that I could have a couple stickers reproduced):

Without the Sharpy you can only see it when the sunlight hits the bumper just right.

That depends, on whether or not the car I buy has them on it!

THe 69 Prix I bought recently has a ghost of one from Covington In on it.

I've always wanted to find a dealer badge/license plate surround from Stephens Pontiac in Daytona. They sponsored Smokey Yunick in NASCAR in 1961, and my last name is Stephens, so it would be a good match to put on my car.

Every new car I've purchased the agreement was that if they put their name tag on it they could keep it. I figured that if they wanted me to advertise for them I should be payed for it. Besides most of them are ugly and don't look right on the car. Jon

I bought a few off of eBay a couple years ago and restored them. I'm thinking of putting one on my Gasser build.

My '69 Judge was sold new at Jenny Pontiac in Janesville, WI (about 25 miles from here). They went out of business in 1974. I found a dealership nameplate on a '66 Bonneville in a nearby boneyard a few years back and stuck it on for this pic. I need to find a way to restore the pot metal and have it replated somehow.

That's cool, Bill. One of the other forum members (Zbuickman) got his '65 GTO through Jenny Pontiac as well.

My Bonne was sold in Aiken,SC.

The lady who bought it only kept for less than a year. Still have all the paper work. I bought it from the son of the guy who bought after she traded it in.

Mine had one from Jarnagin Pontiac in Fort Worth, TX when I bought it. I took it off when I had the car repainted in '92, but really wish I kept it. It was a cool little cast emblem with a bee and the slogan "A honey of a deal". I've never seen another one and lost track to what happened to the one I took off

Semi-related - apparently Monk King worked for Leo Jarnagin before he opened his own store in Denton. I think there's still a Jarnagin Pontiac in Houston, but the one in Fort Worth is long gone.

Wilde is still up there and doing very well. I believe they have a string of different stores.

My 67 gto I bought out of N.C. had one and I still have it some where but not the car and my 81 Nascar trans am has one on it from "Howard" in Edmond. I think thats in OK.

I found this when I took the license plate off my 67. For those who are visually impaired (ME) it reads "Central Gwinnett Motors Inc, Lawrenceville Georgia"

Here is the reproduced bumper sticker, based off the ghost images on the bumper. I picked the colors just from my imagination of what they might have used:

I was pretty excited to get this done but now that I have it on the car I'm not so sure...

I think that is pretty cool that you went thru the effort to have that sticker reproduced. Can your printer reproduce with foil looking lettering/outline instead of the silver? To me that would give it more of a vintage look.

I think so; we talked about a "chrome" appearance vs the "silver" reflective look (...it looks like those adhesive license plate tabs) but I didn't want to iterate too much with the printer (we were trading ideas back and forth via email). Once he got close to what I had in mind I had him make a couple up at that point.
