So what you're saying is that when you get to Heaven, you already have a cool ride. I can go along with that. LOL

I salute ya Lonnie..... R.I.P. And enjoy that Catalina and your guns for eternity, you deserve that much. It's proof you can take it with ya.

That's how I want to go to that big Cruise Night in the sky. With my hands on the steering wheel and shifter. That's going out in style. Plus there's no arguements on who is going to get it for nothing.

Years ago I heard of a lady being buried in her Cadillac, in a red neglige.

Roll on Lonnie. Left the house to the dog, that's solving all the family squabble issues.

That's cool. I never thought such a thing would even be allowed!

I'm wondering how long it will take before some crazy dudes starts diggin' to get those guns out of the ground... And maybe the Cat also. Who knows.

I don't think that's going to happen. The hole was filled with concrete and then covered with dirt.

What a waste of a decent car.

If they filled the hole above the car, I would think the weight of the concrete would crush the roof. Anyone know more details??

I also think all fluids would of had to be drained from the vehicle. Heck, we ship lawnmowers in crates and they have to be drained if going by ship.

Maybe his heirs can make a claim under cash for clunkers deal and get $4500 for removing an evil, gas guzzler from the road? Plus the guns too? The whole deal should make the tree-huggers, greenie-weenies, and the libs happy.

Yeah, that'll happen.

I agree, it was probably low mileage, all original...

It would have been better served leaving it to POCI...

I also think the story is very cool. Saluda County, SC is very close to where I live so there was lots of coverage about this story. What a grand way to go out. As for the question of whether the fluids were drained, the negative environmental impact, etc this is South Carolina after all. These folks here don't give a damn how you do it elsewhere. If the guy wants to be buried in his car, well so be it. There were two concrete trucks on hand to dump concrete on top of this deal to prevent future theft or vandalism. All I can say is Lonnie is the man! RIP

Kinda thought that they went blue and white in heaven.

How expensive was that funeral? I'll bet y'all that the funeral cost more than the car is worth.
