That's a sick feeling isn't it? Looking in the mirror and seeing those lights flickering behind you right after you've done something illegal. I got popped that fall test driving a 67 Firebird that I had just finished. 90 in a 50 zone. He only wrote me for careless driving. I considered that lucky.

My worst ordeal was a race I had with an Olds while I was in my '79 Bandit. I won. The cop said I was doing well over a hundred, but he said he'd be nice and give me the ticket for 90 because triple digits were a felony offense. I happily took it!

Nidan73sd - Thanks for that link. Yours and the one SD73 gave me should do the trick. I've seen your video and really like the car, the sound, and the burning rubber.

Brewster - My insurance carrier is American Collectors out of Cherry Hill, NJ. I've never had a claim with them the 27 years I've been with them. I've wasn't a fan of BG when the first hit '73 TA's first hit the showroom floor (I was 17 and red was a raging hormone color, white was OK). I almost passed on my car, but my wife liked the color and thought it looked like the British Racing Green MG's, Jag's, and Triumph's her brothers used to have, so we bought it.

Tellyshavilli - Don't you own a BG SD TA?

Super Duty D - I see no bids on that thing yet. I agree, maybe I should be thinking $150k!

It looks like it was left outside for a long time and developed lots of surface rust. Then they brought it inside and sprayed a few rattle cans of shiny red paint at it to make it look "presentable" for the auction...

It must be really bad if an auto body shop is turning it.

I haven't seen the car. I had no interest or reason to pursue it. If someone here is interested I'd be glad to look at it for them. Brian makes an excellent point in the previous post.

Here is a great driver from the south and seems to be priced to sell. It will even beat a Camaro?

Mine runs that cool!

This is a nice car. Looks fairly unmolested. Not sure about the exhaust tips though. They look to be non original.

Brew: I'd kill for that hairy grey hose! LOL

Bob, I think we can find you an original hose without anyone getting hurt, however it might hurt your bill fold. ;0)

This is the same car that was listed at the Mecum Kissimee, FL auction on January 24-26, 2008.
There is a short clip still on YouTube with the same description as in the EBay ad. "Admiral Blue", "1 of 739", etc
(I thought it was Admiralty Blue, and 1 of 731)

I'm assuming it did not sell at that auction.

Talking SD in MuscleCar Enthusiast

OK, this thread needed to be brought back to the first page...

Got my December MuscleCar Enthusiast the other day and found this article inside titled "Seven ways to your best resto". Does anyone know this guy?? First, why would they even show a car that's the color of pond scum (rather than a flashy red for example)? Second, why would they show this car and this guy and say "do the restoration yourself and because you enjoy the car”? I'm betting this guy bought it finished and hasn’t even driven the car (other than in and out of a trailer)!!

Also, a very scary story about a '69 ZL-1 COPO Camaro that was stolen and ended up in an Indian Reservation near Hamilton Ontario. The Canadian Police wouldn’t or couldn't do anything so the owner ended up basically paying a ransom to get the car back (which he did but not without some scary moments). Pretty spooky stuff!

Sorry Brew, had to bust your chops on this one! Did you know about the picture?
