Sucks to hear that it fell on the civil side, you might get lucky with e-bay. I was holding out hope for you that it was at least an SR block over a restamp, but those pics show it clearly to be a really poor restamp. |

Ebay did nothing but send some impersonal generic email explaining how it's outside of the 30 day window, which is strange. I thought their policy was 45 days. Maybe they shortened it to decrease the # of claims they have to deal with

Back in 1976 while in high school I bought a 1970 TA from the lady next door, she did buy it new .The block was replaced by the dealer , I do remember the numbers on the block looking like it was stamped by hand, the only reason I remember this is I was rebuilding the enging I thought i had a 455 bought parts for a 455 Thay did not fit ,that is when we got into the numbers, we used a motors book to look them up and foud out it was a 400 ,thats when we found the stamping did not look like other pontiacs we looked at. And this was well before any new about matching numbers. Any way I rebuilt my first eng at 16 wow

Holy Crap !! Did this car have a vinyl top when it was gold ?? You said this guy is from Apopka,Fl yes ?? If so, i have driven this car before, it used to belong to a friend of mine some years back. If it's the same car, the original 400 r/a III engine was removed and put on a stand, then a 428 was built with 670 heads. The car ran pretty good to. I can contact my friend and see what info he has on the motor and let you know what he says. No BS, i really think this may be the same car, and i'm pretty sure i know of Jack too, not a friend, but i know him. He actually set up a parts booth at the Old Town Pontiac show we just had, he was right beside my CV-1 booth. I'll need more info on the car to be certain, but i think it's the same car & guy.

I have NO doubt whatsoever that my engine and trans with matching VIN are in his garage and most likely installed in his 70 TA already. look for 110947. If it's there and I recover my property I'll pay you $1k cash...a lot more if I don't have to recover it myself. Legally it's my property. i just have to get into my hands....legally, of course.
