i guess its impossible to have 13,000 dollars cash and a trailer and be able to find a pontiac body ( lemans, gto, firebird, ventura ) in nice shape and nice paint that can run in the 12s and be street driven people still think the world is barret jackson! im starting to regret selling my pro street GTO . anyone want cash $$ for a street car that runs 12s or better please let me know. again - i have THIRTEEN thats all i have to spend. thanks.

Hi, I have a 68 GTO clone that was a tempest. It's a clean Arizona car minus the engine and tranny $4500 if your interested. It has all the GTO parts with it including a nice hideaway headlight setup. Call 315-749-8496.
Thanks Rob

I have a '68 GTO on ebay right now. Nice and straight rust free Arizona car with a very nice new paint job. I would take $9,000 for it w/o engine/tranny or $10,000 w/engine/tranny. My reserve is set at $12,000 so if you are interested, let me know and I will drop the reserve for you. You can email me at "justgoats at hotmail dot com" or call me at four eight zero 2392527.

I also have a '69 GTO that is 100% rust free and freshly painted (PPG base/clear) Matador Red-show quality mirror finish paintjob and a few 1970 GTOs. Also have a 1972 GTO with a mint body. The '68 was originally a manual transmission car. Cars are in Phoenix, Arizona.

eBay item number for the 1968 GTO: 130393953096

I feel your pain. I've been on the selling end over the past year - and have to give cars away to get cash.
Try to buy one and suddenly they are all big bucks again

Sad thing is 99% of the cars in the $10-$13k range need to be restored if you look at them closely - years of hidden sins.
Or they are clean body ugly color typical 350 cars with A/C, bench seats and presentable.
Still $10k away from being a 12 second street/strip car.

What I am seeing is it takes over $15k to touch a clean body with good colors and nice driveline and some waiting to find one.
I feel the economy sucks - shouldn't toy prices drop?
The days of a $5000 Lemans clean basic driver and $10,000 Lemans clean street/strip car are gone.
Sad, so sad.

try this:

Item number: 230482079051
looks nice but read: been painted, gaps not great, bubbles, dash cap, wrong seats, wrong motor with no balls, has many needs but a nice driver as it sits , best thing is a 4 speed car.
worth $8500 with probably a $13k reserve. How can you justify putting more money into it when it will always be a restored non-stock Lemans?
Sorry - I'll leave your thread alone - just sharing your frustration and afraid to sell my project to look for the same thing you are..

that was a good deal for $6k ! not "exactly" what we are looking for, but was worth it.

At least they aren't all out their minds

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3D1&viewitem=

Seems like it went for the right price. You really can not show many decent 70-72 Lemans' or Tempests that have sold for more $7K in the last year. Car lots/dealers offering financing may be a different story.
