Well, after many years of waiting, my Dad, Jim finally made the purchase of a lifetime!
Today he took delivery of an Admiralty Blue 1974 Trans Am SD-455 with just 16,000 original miles. Steve Schappaugh of Lincoln, Nebraska had purchased it from its original owner in the mid-80s and preserved it for 20 years, until he sold it to its third owner in the mid-2000's. We purchased it from him a few weeks back and it was delivered today. We quickly took a few shots as it was unloaded, so it's very dusty and needs a good detailing. Once we get that done, we'll get several beauty shots posted on the forum. It's VERY original, right down to its Goodyear Steelgard tires. In addition to the still shots, here's a clip of the real SD-455 sound. I'm sure he'll be along soon to post his comments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Etthsh5n7MQ |

My dad had a chance to clean the car up and we shot some pics of it in front of my house tonight. The car is stunning to say the least. It's amazing just how well it's been preserved.

Great car Rocky! Congrats. Steve has had some amazing Pontiacs over the years. I actually inspected a twin to your father's car for a friend of mine a few years back that had less than 100 original miles on it. Blue 74's are hard to top. Enjoy!

Remember when Steve bought that car back in the late eighties. Memory says the dash had an aftermarket CB installed. Removed it, since it was not a factory piece. Very nice, beautiful blue car from Grand Island, NE. At least that's what my memory says.

You're right hendoIV, the car did have a aftermarket CB radio, but it was installed in the map pocket of the front console. Steve replaced the console with a NOS piece and the original console was shipped to me along with the car.

Wow. That has to be the best looking blue I've seen in a long time. Congrats on your time capsule. A SD to boot.
