Default General alternator/ammeter questions

As there is no dumb question and I do not know the answers, I am going to ask.

I just got the new Tuff Stuff 100A 3 wire alt for the 62 Catalina wagon. Plugged it and fired up the car and with everything on (heat, high beams, radio, Mark VIII fan on high, and wipers) voltage never got below 13.5V. NICE!!! Questions are

1. With everything on, the stock ammeter (D/C meter) is pegged on C. Is this because the demand is high and pegging the meter? 0-30/40/60 amps?

2. The alternator belt on the bottom of the alt pulley is wobbly. What can cause this.

Thanks,
Dave

P.S. STOCK 62 389 2 barrel, never gets above 160* with the fan off. Go figure....

What does the amp meter look like with no accessories on? Yes it will be toward the "C" when the alternator is putting out amps.

slightly towards to C side of things. as soon as an accessory gets turned on it goes way to the right.
