I have one guy that asked to see the oval collectors. So tomorrow I'll post some pics of them on the test frame to show the installed height.
You can get an idea of how much room they give by the above pic in the box even through the bubble wrap. gearbanger & 67 Lamnas I have 3 different things I take into account on my lists & Im still surfing through all the post of all the threads on all the boards which takes hours to say the least. So its a rough draft until I start the header. You cant see contos20's headers until I get the pics from the shop camera but they are the first ones that I just modified the jig. So this will speed things up a little because that header fits both 68'-72' A-body's & 2nd gen birds. Both O & D-port sets because I took the time to do what I was told couldn't be done without a total new pattern 5yrs ago. I only have 2-3 64'-67' A-body left & its easier to work on the other at this moment with the way Im set up. Plus I can get the most covered with this set because of the two body's it fits. I think things are going to speed up a little now in part from the changes I made to the jigs because almost all the bends & parts are interchangeable between the two body's. also because the newest welder I have is also willing to help in the build process. Until now the guy thats been helping is real slow on the build & I still need to help at most things. So I may as well do it all myself it seems. My good friend that helped me for two days was just as fast as me & I only had to show him once. He has a job though or that would be the ticket. |

Ron has been great to work with. Know that Ron is a small operation and that he is busting his butt to get these things done. Mines in the box heading out!!!!!!!! I can't wait. See you at the TA Nats.

Thanks contos20 but it was actually your help that did it.
As contos20 knows, I got stalled for a few days because the welder wanted to be paid on the day of the work. So needless to say that wasn't possible & if it were not for contos20 wiring me a deposit so I could pay him they would still be sitting waiting. I can do all I can do (& I did) like bend, port forming, collector forming, cutting, fitting & tacking together but its what I cant do or make myself that is the only snags now. Like welding, flanges & Oval tubing. Which adds up to around 150 already without all the other materials. I still cant seem to get people to work for free yet. Yes, Jim they are going out today & since your in Ca it should only be 2 days I think. Sorry I didn't get a pic of yours with the new card board coating. These guys that are stepping up to sponsor are a bunch of great guys that have there hearts in the right place & helping everyone. This is important to note because with my dealings over the years in Pontiac's is that there are more than in some of the other brands communities. Make sure that when you email me with any updated or just confirming old info to send prof of payment also. Some are obvious but there has already been one instance of a free loader trying to get a set that never existed. Since the age of the lists I have I was taking everyone's word as truthful. Its a good thing I kept looking for him hoping I didn't lose his info somehow because some have changed screen names or were not registered on the forums back then or what ever reason & after trying to verify "anything" I caught him. I would have hated wasting time & resources sending him a free set when it should have gone to its rightful owner. So there are always going to be 1 or 2 in a community. |

Well, I can save you the time of surfing through my posts, I paid in February 2005, $700 money order. I want the 67 GTO, d-port 4 speed, coated, with v-band connectors on the collectors. As soon as you post pics of my headers on the forum I'll send you the v-band connectors to weld on. If you want to refund me the coating amount, I can take care of that myself.

You know, something that jumps out at me are the welds around the tubes where they insert into the header flange. Those should really just be tacked good on the outside and then fully welded on the inside and the flange ground flat. It would give more room for the bolts and just look alot better too.

Well, I got my headers from Ron and they look great, plus wanted to post some pics. I was the first to step up and was FritzCats sponser.
To answer gearbangers question, here are some closeup of my headers and the welds around the flanges. You can see the welds that were done INSIDE the port flange and ground smooth. No other header company does that! These are the best fitting header you can get, almost fits as well as manifolds, bolts much easier to get to. With the flat oval collector, there is tons of room for ground clearance. Plus the power is amazing. Do not let the theorectical equations that say a 4 tube is better, these for some reason flow almost as well, will ALOT more useable torque from 3000-6000rpm. Enjoy the pics, and pontiac people should seriously consider ordering a set. |

Man, those do look nice. Looks like they are getting better every set. I sytarted a thread over on the pro-touring forums about these headers. I think there will be takers because those cars sit low!
Ron, if anyone calls from the PT forum, that is MY Sponsor!
