Yeah, Sophia Loren even in her 70's does that for me as well. Time less beauty.

I have told people to have me cremated. Virtually everyone I know loves the ocean. I told them to go out, buy a nice bottle of wine, go out in their boat, drink the wine, transfer my ashes to the bottle, throw it out into the water, then shoot it down with a 12 gauge.
Have a little levity when I go. It will be something to remember me by.

[QUOTE=69goatboy;4129240]When I go, my wife wants me to be cremated and then pressed into a diamond type gem and then set into a ring. Yes, they do that now.
I'll watch for you on "Pawn Stars"! Just kidding. I am also an organ donor...any needed part{s} and will most likely be parted out...and I'm cheap! Cremation is the only option in my book. Wife says she won't do it...but I believe she will. My view is that our bodies are on loan to us as long as we have a soul to occupy them. After that...they are repossesed by our Creator...so if they can get some good from it...have at it! Might be the best contribution I make! Seriously...if it helps one person...why not? I would want to be cremated regardless. When burying my Mother...the vault crashed into the coffin and they had to bury her again. Pretty traumatic experience for the family. Anyway...makes the most sense to me. Kills me [no pun intended] when folks at the funeral comment on how "good" the corpse looks! Personally...never looks as good as the last time I saw them. JMHO. Dad's ashes showed up unannounced one day at my office via the US Postal service. Small rectangular metal box wrapped in brown paper with a UAB label on the front. In small print down at the bottom of the label was "contains human ashes". I bet theft of those packages is not a big problem.
Dad is now interred at the National Veterans Cemetery in Montevallo Alabama. I believe he was the third veteran buried there. That's where he wanted to be and we actually kept him around the office here until they finally finished the new cemetery.

Cremated and scattered at sea. That way everytime my wife or kids go to the beach or ocean, they can be at my grave to think of me.
Although the lure idea does have some appeal as well. |

My father was cremated as per his wishes. We took him out to the cemetery and dug down until we hit the foot of my sisters vault. Put the small plastic container he was in, in a tin popcorn can and laid him to rest so he/we thought.
![]() The next summer when I was home on leave. We went back down to the cemetery and dug him up. So we could his set his VA foot stone. Also took him out of the tin can and put him in a plastic bucket. When mom died four years later. We went back down to the cemetery and dug him and the foot stone up so he could be buried with mom. He now lays at her feet. Regrettably with no easy way for us to get dig him up again. Or I just might so I could take him fishing again. LOL. I could almost hear him laughing at us each time we dug him up. Glen |
