Here are a couple of dim photos that happened to catch in their background the MILNE PONTIAC dealership in Logan, WV that closed in the early-mid 70's. The showroom was on the bottom floor street level and the service department was on the second floor with a rear entrance off another street. They also sold GMC trucks.
The first photo of a man pumping gas was taken in 1937. It appears that there is an old vertical style gas pump in the corner of the left space. The second photo was taken in 1940 of a power plant building project opposite the dealership. In the second photo there appears to be a “new” Pontiac in the left space. In clearer pictures one can see a car passing the building on the street in front of the new one. When the 67 Sprints came out I owned a 65 GTO and my buddy had a 66 that he had bought from that dealer. Since my buddy’s dad bought fleet GMC pickup trucks from the dealer my buddy got to take new car rides by himself that not many people did. Accordingly, when a champagne colored, black vinyl top 4-spd full dress 67 Sprint showed up my buddy and I got to test it out all by ourselves. We were really impressed! Some 10 years later I saw that same Sprint car being used as a chicken house in a chicken lot. |

CDN2PLS2, in White River Jct? Sure did every once in a while. You did go into the bar did ya? Now that was one crazy place to party. We had some wild times in that place.
![]() North, I'd eat dinner at Ho Jo's at night, but at A&W if it was lunch time and I had to keep on going to make a delivery. But I always tried to get back to WRJ to spend the night, and head for the bar.

I was watching clips of the car chase scene from Bullitt on Youtube for the millionth time
People usually go through the chase scene to count how many hubcaps come off the Charger, or how many times the same VW appears in the background, but this time I decided to look for Pontiacs. Here's a few screen grabs. I'm sure there are more, if you pay closer attention. |

Did anyone happen to see the original Hawaii Five O that aired a few months ago on one of the retro channels?
In the last minutes of the show they caught the bad guy, cuffed him, and stuffed him in the back seat of a 1966 GTO that was painted blue with white doors and police trim. It still had the GTO emblems on the rear qtr.'s. First 1966 GTO Police car I ever seen, a true classic. My wife thinks I'm crazy for pointing those things out. I love watching old shows for the cars, surely not for the acting skills.

Have you ever watched the scene and counted how many hubcaps that Charger loses? If I recall correctly, it loses 7 of them.....

Now that you've shown it Greg, I do remember that Porsche. If IRC, it was his girl friends car.
