Default Need bumper moved from Houston to Dallas

I am overseas right now and found a rear bumper for my 79 Bonny at a salvage yard north side of Houston and need it taken to a shipper in Grand Prairie 75050 between Dallas and Ft. Worth. Yard won't ship. Any ideas on cheap way to get it up there? Would be the bumper laying on the ground most likely, doubt he will do anything other than maybe a pallet. Help!

Default bumper shipping

A used bumper could be shipped by Greyhound freight without too much fear of major damage. A sturdy and oversized item like this an ideal item to use greyhound. A well attached toe-tag is all that may be required for labeling.

Maybe a local member could assist you in getting the bumper to the station and a family member or friend could pick it up at the destination station. They only ship station to station.

Just a thought,
Greg

When do you need it in Dallas? I live on the SE side of Houston, and I plan on heading to Dallas for Christmas.

Sometime next week, buddy has a container leaving from there in about 10 days. I was trying to find one them "hotshot" guys that go back and forth. Wonder if I could do FEDEX or UPS ground pickup. A complete bumper assembly is probably abut 70-80 pounds I figure.

I live in the area between Dallas and Fort Worth. If you can find someone to meet me half way in between there and Houston I can do that no problem. If you get up against it and still can't find some way to get up here, I might be able to take off work a day and make the run.

Thanks for the offer Mike. I am going to try and get the yard to take it to Conroe to the bus station. Does anybody know if the parts has to be wrapped or just tagged for Greyhound?

If Greyhound doesn't work out for you, let me know, I may have another option if you need it, I have a good friend that goes back and forth from here (Houston) to Dallas a couple times a week in his eighteen wheeler to pick up construction equip., bet I could get him to pick up your bumper and deliver it (especially if where he goes is around where you need it dropped), let me know and I'll ask him for you.

The Fort Worth Greyhound terminal is six blocks from my office. I could certainly pick it there and take it to Grand Prairie for you.
