For you I went and weighed the one that came out of my car using the house scales. My wife was not too happy!

LOL, Thanks I am now looking at things that I didn't want to do but I need to get some weight out of the car. So I think the stock tank is going and cell is going in.

Plastic. Purchased new in 1994 and still like new. The 4.5 lb. weight included vent and metal straps used to mount inside the trunk.

It's weight, but it's good weight. Low and centered between the rear tires...
The help will be less fuel needed to cover the sump.

I took mine out back in 93, if I had to do it over again I don't think I do it.

My stock Tank is cut on each end just past where the straps hold it in. Then flat steel welded in place. Holds about 9 gallons. I run 3/5. Still has the stock sending unit with the rear AN sump. I use the stock 3/8" top line for the return form my 500 gph pump. |

BTW gasoline weighs roughly 6 lbs per gallon. Aluminum Hard line vs braided saves some weight too.

I vented mine outside with a RO valve. Don't for get to figure in mandated rear firewall. I run 5/8 ID push loc hose. Protected where necessary.FWIW: I think aluminum hard line is rated in OD....
