Depends on what you want. Glass lense? Factory harness connector? Want it to fit your factory hole without modifying ? Look factory on underside? Points only or hei ? Lots of options to decide on before you buy.Never realized myself the number of hood tachs being repod till I was shopping for a replacement.

Purchased one recently from Ames, the top housing and face was good however the bottom was very different from a factory original. It would not even fit in the hole in the hood without interference. Sent it back
Then got one from InLine Tube, appearance top and bottom was excellent.

Some of the reprod tachs are points only, some say points or hei. Call PY and ask about the one you got, worst case you may have to add a tach adapter to get it working.

Randy Watson makes a very nice reproduction hood tach and I know that he sells them to Year One.

Are any of them made JUST like originals? I'd like to use the painted & clearcoated shell of my original and put repro guts in it.

I don't think any new hood tach parts or pieces that are directly interchangeable with old. There are at least THREE different manufacturers of new (that I know of) and there could easily be more than 3.

Repo hood tachs have been on the market for about 20 years now. So add to this the "older" repos, versions which are no longer made.

As I recall the original GM design leaked, so do you really want to use an old sunbleached shell?
