I have a set of them. I have never used them. Somone else had them on a car and removed them, they were never used. They look like S10-G body spindles and brakes. According to the ads on Ebay they are made to use the A body ball joints, I have not checked that yet. The rotors on mine say made in the USA.

Would 2" drop spindles actually drop the vehicle height by 2 full inches if all else remains the same? Or is this about obtaining better steering geometry? My 70 GTO already seams to sit quite low up front. I cant imagine what 2" drop spindles would do.

I would use some springs with a 2" drop instead of 2" dropped spindles to lower your car.

When you use springs to do the job you can still get a good alignment job done.

One issue with drop spindles is outer tie rod clearance to the rim on wheels with enough backspacing to allow a wider wheel, this limits your wheel choices. Another issue would be the suspension also retains full downward travel with drop spindles. Your front crossmember and exhaust can now smack the road with much greater force than it could if you used the 2" drop springs instead.

Using 2" drop springs would retain the factory lower limits on chassis to ground clearance, these cars already have limited ground clearance and using drop spindles really isn't the best way to lower them. The smaller front brakes that the drop spindles have to use aren't all that attractive either.

Good luck with your decision.

When I get around to it I will take some pictures of the drop spindles with the brakes into different wheels. It's much easier to see with them not on the car.

The drop spindles fit vintage American 14 inch wheels with enough clearence for the stick on weights. The A body ball joints also fit.

Knowing they fit A body ball joints and fit the vintage wheels, I am going to use them. I have the 69 and up single piston caliper brakes also but they can't be used with the vintage wheels. They sell the spindles on Ebay, all the rest of the parts can be pieced together easy.

Unhappy

I bought the 2" drop kit off ebay, good parts and works great, but I wish I bought lowering springs instead. The car sits quite low, also replaced the springs with moog standard ones. My headers have hit the road several times. And I could not use the Ralley II center caps with the rotors that came in the kit!

They will work for what I am using them for. I'm not worried about springs. I have a few sets that I can try. I will weigh them and see how they compare to stock A body disc brakes and to the tall spindles.

Exclamation Don't do it!

Your car will sit so low , you're going to look like a twat taking brickroads at 12mph and speedbumps at 2mph.

Ask me how I know.

It won't be too low. I can use stiffer springs.
