My mother, probably in the early 1950's -  Mom is now in her mid 70's, still living in the house I grew up in. My father, mid 1950's -  Dad passed away in 2005. I know I have some more pics of him looking cool while driving some of his big bad machines back then. I'll have to get them scanned and post 'em up. K

Chrysler was king of aggressive (and suggestive) advertising. GM had changed their advertising after the 1963 no-racing ban, and toned things down quite a bit. GM still had cool ads after 1963, but they didn't show their cars on dragstrips, smoking tires, or engaged in racing activities.

front mount blower motor

I did not see that was a fuel tank in front of the engine from my previous post. So much for attention to detail. Wow another cool picture of a blown 4cyl. Pontiac. I can't get enough, show me more!
