I was born and raised in Chattanooga. Used to cruise my first car, a 71 LeMans, up and down Brainerd Road. Honest Charley was right off that road and every Saturday that place was packed with local guys buying parts for their cars. I bought a Thrush glass pack muffler for my LeMans there one Saturday morning. Me and my buddies put it on that afternoon and that night I cruised up and down Brainerd Road and in and out of the Shoney's Big Boy drive-in all night, doing burn outs as I pulled out of the Shoney's! That pic brings back a lot of good memories!
O.K., that first pic of Linda is now my new favorite! Those shorts were very tight! Quote:

That's a heck of an outfit Nikki Phillips is wearing. The guys in the background are probably annoyed there's a Hurst/Olds blocking their view.

Here is my 69 ram air IV judge getting some track duty in stanton Mi. original owner behind the wheel. you can see the GTX he is paired with, this car was raced at this track since birth and was parked in the backfield of the track for years, time slips piled in the back seat that filled the floor and seat bottom, you can see 13.10 on the window

here is the the 68 hurst olds comeing back from the detroit auto rama in 1976. always looking for information on this car also. it was a test mule for Oldsmobile and ran at Milan dragway, still retains it's born with drive train, 24k miles, Mike Sullivan was the original owner and was killed in 1975, I bought it from the second owner, and it never saw daylight again after this photo until I bought it in 2006.

...trivia...the "Candies Hughes" Funny was a national champion in 1971 I think...it no doubt went thru several owners, and in the late 80's it ended up in my backyard
...I bought the F/C body and a truck load of parts for $300....It was painted Plum Crazy at that time and was lettered "CHASE"....having no idea it was the famous "Candies Hughes" champion, it literally sat in my back yard for many years and my kids used the parachute pack as the strike zone/back stop when they played baseball...they sat in it, climbed all over it...a couple of years ago I saw it in a magazine being reunited with the original chassis, glad it is being saved and restored |
