Default Sticker shock!!!!

Went to our Chevy dealership yesterday to get a bottle of EOS. Don't ask why, that is not the point of the story.

Guy behind the counter printed the invoice and handed it to me. I stared at him like he had lobsters coming out of his ears.

Total - $26.32

One bottle. Just one. And yes, that bottle is still sitting at the dealership.

I had no idea.

I think the aftermarket ZDDP Plus additive is cheaper. Also, it may be less expensive to just use and oil like Brad Penn Racing Oil that has the zinc in it, if you have it available to you. Check with your local machine shops or engine builders.

Same here now, 1/2 bottle for 1 oil change is plenty. GM now has it under a different part number & revised formula i think, dealers can get stupid money for it.

Yeah, I hear ya on the race oil. I was limited due to time and some other factors or I would have.

I hadn't bought the stuff in a while but I swear last time I got some it was around $10. For $26 I thought the guy would drive over and pour it in for me!

STP has zddp in it also. I've broken in two cams with it recently with no issues whatsoever. It really helps to remove the inner valvespring when you are breaking in a cam.

Might wanna look into Torco ZEP,it's like $13.95 per bottle direct from Torco, and it can probably be had just a bit cheaper than that thru a distributor or such if you have one that's local to you.

I know Ace @ PPR sells Torco oils & products,so he might have it for less too.

Torco ZEP Link.

Torco makes good oil & lubricants!
