Interesting to see what factory builds on stock type tires really run.
I agree with the keep it simple mentality. We don't like confusion, just out to have some fun and maybe win a few races. If there's enough cars in the street type classes you could split the cars into more than one class based on their dial in times. Help make the racing more fun to watch too.

[QUOTE=Robert C.;4362991]Question:

What would it take for a pay out to get a bunch of Pontiac racers to this event next year.

Prize Money?
A big item to give away for King Pontiac? Intake, carburetor, crankshaft, gift card for gas ect.
a large trophy?
Girls?

What would draw a large crowed?

Good question.

A few years ago you donated $250 & $500 vouchers towards the purchase of an IA II block at Sikeston, Mo. I won 1 of each in 06-07.
But the car count was pathetic. 15 cars give or take in Pro class.
We surely don't want you to lose interest.

It never hurts to throw other teasers in the pot also if you feel it is neccessary! Extending the racing into Sunday also would help justify the expense of the trip for the ones who didn't come out.
It also would be neat to have a dedicated night race. If you were to do something like that, I'd like to see it on Friday night as a bonus race where everyone is welcome instead of a gamblers where alot of guys choose not to put the money up to participate. When the rain came Saturday, there was only 15 people entered, at Norwalk, less than half the racers get involved in the Friday gamblers which has always amazed me why more don't participate. Maybe do something like pay out a little cash for the top 2 spots or throw in different prizes for the other spots. Just an idea!
But I agree, the location is ideal and shouldn't have any problems drawing more racers next year, and having it in early June helps with not having the extreme heat and humidity we had this past weekend.
Now strippers would draw a larger crowd!
Strippers, long as Rob doesn't participate.

May be if they get good feedback they will have it there every year. There are enough Pontiac in the area to support this type of event.

AllPontiac will be glad to offer prize money or material for this event.

Keep the ideas coming, Dave Bennett will look them over and will work on making this a
fun experience.

Did anyone go to the amusement park on the roller coaster? This is right next door. I mean if you rode the ride you can see the starting line at the track.
As a racer the only time I leave my pit area is to go watch someone else race.
Great for the racer who brings his family for other entertainment.
I bring my son who is a racer & my 12 year old grandson who can't wait to race.

I watched Bret Kepner introduce 8 weekends of index racing to Gateway last year.
It was a flop! Very little car count. pis poor payout.
Not to mention we could of had 8 more points races & the track could have made more money.

But hay, what does a racer know?

Agreed. There seemed to be a noticeable lack of these cars this past weekend; most of the 'stock' class were the later model cars. Keep it simple to get the 13 sec and slower guys on the track.

Talking C/FX NSS at Bowling Green

Ever think of having a NSS class at Bowling Green. This past weekend at Beaver Springs, Beaver Bob had a packed house and 54 NSS cars. You want ideas to put on an event, give a call to Beaver Bob and learn from one of the best. This was a class act that I have not seen lately, except at Norwalk.

NSS cars were run as exhibition at the POCI event, they were provided by the Nostalgia Super Stock, Inc., Joe Zajac is a member here.

NSS class racing is gaining interest, most groups have followed the NSS rules provided by the NMCA. They have had as many 80 cars at one NSS event.

People that have ideas as how to organize a race ?
Are they racers?
I've been on a racetrack since 1964. When they only had a flag start.
Don't tell me I haven't tried it all!

The Dave Duell Classic is the largest NSS event in the country. It started out at the Monster Mopar event in St. Louis a few years back. This is the event that gets 70 to 80 cars each year. The "other" brands pair up against the Mopars in the early rounds till the overall winner is decide. This year it will be held at Beech Bend in conjunction with the NMCA event. This event will have a good indication for turnout as to the location, for us Pontiac guys, Norwalk is the same weekend.

They had 84 cars last time. Combining this event with NMCA should top that. $4000.00 to win and they feed you also. Run heads up on Sat. for class winners. Its a 9.9 in my book but Norwalks a 10 63 tempest 421sd---61 tempest wagon 421sd 4 speed

Thanks for the link Calvin. A few years back we were at BeechBend's waterpark and they had a Mopar event over at the track. There were other brands running. I figure they were doing something similar.
I think getting a group like that together for next years event would certainly bring spectators. Last months Hot Rod reunion had a large showing of NSS cars and most the fans were stayin put while they were running.(and that day was just qualifying/time trials).
