That's not the correct 455 HO Y-bracket: that is a standard 455 bracket. The HO verison has a cut out and folded over section that provides clearance for the passenger side heat riser tube that runs to the choke stove next to the divorced choke pull off.

I knew you your going to get me on that . My Trans Am did not have AC on it so when I bought the 76 TA for parts I remove all the AC stuff from it and will use on my Trans Am . I'm hoping that it will work because mine does not have the part that is bend over like the 72 , the red arrows part on your picture so maybe it will clear it

It should work, though the corrugated aluminum foil tube that connects the passenger side air cleaner thermactor to the choke stove on the bottom of the air cleaner snorkle will probaby need a little kink in it to clear that high portion of your bracket.

I would love to get all the proper brackets and everything else for the Trans Am but I don't even have the matching # motor,it's not even a 455 that I have it's only a 400 so I don't think it really matters for now . Maybe some day I'll track down the matching # motor. I talked to one ex owner and he thought it was the matching # motor that was in the car when he had it, but it wasn't because all the work he put in the motor matches what was done on the 400 motor I have.

Pick up a 72 base Firebird three weeks ago for $550. Original color of Firebird is code 65 (sundance orange) and trim code is 212 = 121 ivory , nice combo. The floors pans and the trunk are done but have the new repo pans and new middle section for trunk for it also as a new 3/4 quarter panel installed on the driver side and the pass side quarter is cut off the car but have the panel also have 2 new frame rails (3/4 ones). No seats or carpet and no motor or trans but the guy as the motor and trans and are matching # to the Firebird . It also came with a Formula hood and lots of chrome parts like front valence, hood hinges, heather box, booster, combination valve ,trunk and rear window filler panel and all the interior pillars moldings. I guess well worth the $550

The plan I hope is to use the front inner fenders , rad support , some nose brackets , and whatever other parts I need for the 72 Trans Am . As for the 72 Trans Am goes I bought and pick up 2 weeks ago the full trunk floor pan , 2 full frame rail , rear floor transition pan , set of floor braces(3 pcs) , rear leaf spring mounts (pair) and the complet floor with no braces all for 70-73 cameros from Golden Leaf Automotive in Toronto. I checked all pictures from this site (Njsteve , Keepat ,ect )and they match pretty close to the original parts. the complet floor pan was back order so when I was checking the pictures of the floors,trunks I notice that the brace at the rear on the floor at the leaf spring mount (under rear seat area) and at the start of the frame rails does not come with complet floor pan (no brace one)so I cancelled that complet floor (no brace) order and ordered the new complet floor pan (with braces)

So now I will take that whole stupid full frame ,tubs ,man made trunk stuff off the Trans Am very carefully installed the new repo parts on the Trans Am and later on install the full frame ,tubs, man made trunk etc on the 72 Firebird ,but I will get the Trans Am ready before doing anything on the firebird

Holy Chromola Batman! Have never seen a chrome valence before....or chrome A pillar covers......you could probably sell those parts and get your money back for the firebird....lol. Someone will think its cool (not in this group though...lol)!

Truely admire your love/dedication for the car.

The GM of Canada documentation kicks azz over what we can get through PHS.
They used the Billing History Card for source, whereas PHS only has access to Invoices for 69 and newer.

But GM of C can only service cars that were either Built in Canada, or Sold in Canada.
The PHS was a waste of money in your Canadian case.
We could have advised you on that if you had gotten here sooner.

The ORIGINAL window sticker for my 73 SD TA would have lead unknowing viewers to believe it was a 4spd car with Rally2's.

It did have Rally2's - but it could have been built with Honeys for no additional cost - and the data would have stayed the same on the window sticker, and Invoice. Like it did on your Honeycomb car.

It was an Automatic - but nothing on the window sticker or Invoice reflects that.

They were "either/or" choices - and a choice HAD to be made by whoever filled out the order sheet.

The good/bad - bad/bad - thing about this is if you want to counterfeit one of these TA's while bringing it back from scratch - nobody can prove it otherwise. On the tranny or wheels, unless it has a Canadian connection.

And be glad you don't have to/need to - source/buy a set of KR coded rally2 wheels !

Did you have the original window sticker for your SD T/A, and it said 4-speed only?

I know it was a no cost option, so won't show on the invoice. And on the repro stickers PHS makes, it shows nothing on the options list because Jim doesn't know what they originally came with.

But, at least on '70 T/As, an original factory window sticker WILL show which transmission the car came with (and no cost in the line over in the RH column where the prices are racked up) in the list of priced options. Not sure if that was still the convention in '72 and '73, though.

This is the window sticker from her royal highness.
It was completely #'s and dates matching from the carb all the way down to the brake parts (not the pads and shoes mind you).

It doesn't say 4spd only -
- but it only says 4spd.

Interesting. I've attached one from an auto trans '70 T/A that shows how they indicated the auto trans on the sticker in '70. I wonder why they changed the convention...

Pick up the complete new repo floor with braces from Golden Leaf Automotive (Dynacorn International) in Toronto yesterday (Thursday) pretty happy with the look of it . Will post pictures today (Friday) of the floor and braces.

Just imagine the reflection on a chrome front valence or the chrome rear window trunk panel at night when you meet it on the road , enough to make you go right off the road
