Tom,
I've always wondered why I hadn't seen someone use 2300 series Holleys on a Tri-Power manifold. Now, I have!

That being said, the car was a 1963 Catalina Wagon with a built up 455 engine using ported cast iron heads. The car ran 12.06 ET but only ran 106 mph as the body was a "brick" at speed vs 115 mph. The car ran the fastest ET/MPH with the end carbs NOT open all the way at wot. Tom Vaught

I guess I can understand using the Holley's on an aftermarket Six Shooter...
Good info Tom- do you know what that BG intake flows compared to factory iron?

I talked to BGTECH and he had me sent the intake back and he made it right (NEW 3rd generation intake). No complaints whatever with BGTECH. That being said, the BG intake communication ports (internally) were way undersized and the ports were somewhat different sized. Probably like some of the latest 66 Rochester TRI-POWER aluminum intakes. The two "1st run" 66 Rochester TRI-POWER intakes I have are very nice. So as I said I had Dave Wilcox work over the BG Unit. Should work well now and hopefully will flow as well as Slowbird's dad's Ported cast Iron Intake. Tom Vaught

Can you buy the BG six-shooter intake alone, sans BG carbs and such?

But Like I said BGTECH stepped up for his company and made it right. Tom Vaught The Bore Sizes for the Throttle Blades are the same for the Large 66 Rochester carbs and the Holley "500 cfm" carbs. I believe that you could machine a 1/2" off the aluminum Rochester Tri-power intake pads and weld on the Offy solid aluminum Holley pads and have a very good intake (with a factory carb height). A Lot of the 66 aluminum Rochester Tr-Power intakes out there if you want to spend some money and a Lot cheaper vs the BG parts.

Thanks Tom.
If anyone here is interested in a complete BG Pontiac Six-Shooter setup, I have a friend who has one locally (used) that wants to get rid of it very reasonably. I checked it out, but it just doesn't work for me, for reasons previously stated. PM me if interested.
