Progress update, made many modifications to the dash harness so that the '65 rally gauges would work:

After all the cutting and splicing, the dash harness got re-wrapped with grey tape (correct for an A/C car), thanks to Prairierust for the tape:

Then the fun part, stand on your head trying to get all of the dash/harnesses/ducts etc. to be happy with each other under the dash. I had the radio in and out three times. The glove box in and out three times, etc. Had to build my own rear defroster harness for the switch, requires a resistance wire to add the low speed. Not sure why, but the vent balls have been on backorder for a long time. A/C cars are a bitch getting everything stuffed in there:

Digging though a box I had forgotten was there I found my original accessory grommet which we had a separate thread about. Two speed wiper harness on top, tach in the middle, A/C harness will go in the bottom:

Also finished up the engine accessories, belts, fan, etc. Sorry, I didn't polish the blades. They were pretty rough, lots of corrosion/pits, so I bead blasted it. I did have lots of fun masking the fan for painting the black part, and then painting each rivet by hand. Also got the clutch linkage finished, I ended up using the two spring set-up from '66/'67. Need to get the steering column, engine harness, starter, A/C harness in, then I can put the front clip on.

Small progress update: I got the starter in with the modified length positive cable from M&H to route the '67 HO way. The engine and A/C harnesses were rewrapped in grey tape and routed. Just need to get the column in before I put the front clip on. Between our club's show this coming weekend, Norwalk, and work, I'll be hard pressed to have the fenders on in August.

Looks great Ron. BTW, leave the a/c vent balls out. Then you can slip a can of your favorite 'brew' in either one to keep it cold.

Chris, here's the information for the Yorktown Blue, straight off the can.

The interior blue was a custom mix, my paint shop wasn't able to use the codes I provided to find it.

They did a great job matching the color. I had only one good sample of the original blue, under the ash tray trim plate. Not big enough to scan, but enough to manually match to. Unfortunately, for some reason, they mixed it in a vinyl paint system. My painter sprayed it before I realised the mistake. But, I liked it, so left it. The lower dash and door areas are not as glossy as they should be, I'd guess 30-40% gloss, versus the 60% or so it should be. The 0% gloss on top of the dash came out really well, and has a nice silky look. I wouldn't recommend this paint system for a stock restoration. That said, here's the codes.

Thanks GT182. Funny thing about those missing vent balls, nobody has them. I've got them on backorder at two different places for months now and nothing. I may have to find some originals and have them replated.

Did your paint shop match the Yorktown Blue to something from the car or was that just from the paint code? I have a 62 Wagon that needs to be the same color, My buddy that owns a body shop told me to wait until I remove the front fenders and get to the untouched part of the cowl so we can match it. He does not think that the code would be a perfect match. If yours was matched to something I will give him this information and see if he will mix some up for me. Andy in Tucson

The Yorktown Blue formula I showed was made strictly from the Dupont codes, we did not match it to original paint.

I have to say, the level of craftsmanship displayed on some of the cars on this forum..and in particular, this one... is enough to make me go out and throw ROCKS at my projects. This car is stunning.

Thanks Ron, I appreciate the information. It will make it a little easier now when it is time to get the paint. I am not building a concourse project so if the color exterior / interior is off some I am not too worried about it. I just want something that is as close as possible.

Your car looks great, I bet it is hard towards the end of your project, when in all reality all you want to do is get in it and drive the snot out of it!!!
