Interesting about the Formula esp the price.I don't follow the market. As a side light when I had the SD to Charleston for the 1st POCI convention an edlerly man came up to the car and we started talking. He brought a silver SD Formula from the midwest. He said I didn't notice your enclosed trailer.Did you have an open trailer, no I drove the car here! from where-Latrobe,Pa.You shouldn't be driving this car, he said. This is the way I figure Maybe-but its mine.I paid for it and I am going to enjoy every thumbs up ,look, wow, street race esp Corvettes, and every rumble from the exhaust. How long do I have on this earth,I have enough should-a,could-a's, would-a's to remember. Bob

Obviously neither does the dealer trying to resell that car at a $40,000 markup. :-)

SDBob, Glad to hear you drive yours like it should be driven. I get the same comments when I drive my old 70 hemi R/T-SE charger around to the local cruise nights. It's got 17,000 miles, it's one of 16 produced and the only red one. Hell, I'd rather be a moving target than to have it sitting in a garage somewhere waiting on a falling satellite to hit it.

I'm bringing it out to the MCACN in Chicago in November for display. It's an amazing show in case anyone is in the area and wants to come by harass me. It's the weekend before Thanksgiving. The Charger will be in the Day2 display. Kind of funny since it has been Day2 since Day1, having left the dealership with headers and Cragars. Gonna show it with the original owner 15x4 fronts/15x7 rears and Parnelli Jones L60s. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...=443026&page=3

I get a ton of inquiries from the various auction houses wanting it as their "feature car", etc., but I don't do auctions. They always seem to promise you the world but seldom deliver.

Getting ready for the trip I have been spending the last few weeks "restoring" my 1989 Pace 24-foot trailer. By restoring I mean replacing the entire brake assemblies, adding a breakaway switch, fixing the running lights (and in the process finding the world's largest mouse nest in the front wall - yuck!).

BTW, that recently found red 1,700 mile, 73SD T/A will be at the show for survivor judging. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...391#Post439391

Here's the link to the show: http://www.mcacn.com/

Larry, I'd still be happy to work a trade on your car, with the 70 or the 72!!!!! You know I have been bothering you about that car for what, 7 years now? :-)

I tried to buy a '70 from one of my neighbors that same color back in the late 80s. It was a 440 (I think 6 pack if I recall correctly) car. Had black interior, black vinyl top and black decals. It had been sitting there for at least a year with grass growing up around the tires. The guy almost threw rocks at me for even asking about it.
"No! You don't see a for sale sign on it do 'ya?!!"
About a year later, I spotted it in the back yard of one of my other neighbors. He told me that the guy sold it to him for $600... Then he told me that all it needed was an alternator and a battery...
He reached through the window, turned the key and it started right up and idled beautifully.
It's all about the right timing.

THIRTY POINTER! You shouldn't be drinking that early (or late as the case may be)!

Hey, someone placed a bid on that Formula on ebay? 89,500.00 for a car you could have bought for 57,000.00 three months ago? Crazy!
