Looks like Ron Rhodes was qualified #1 in one class and I think #7 in 275x.

by far that was the best race I have ever been to.. 90 x275 cars and full fields + in all other classes.. we were chasing a spinning problem all weekend but still managed to qualify #1 in the leaf spring shootout. made it to the finals and spun when the second kit came on.. we went a 5.04 in the x275 and where 33rd in a 32 car field..
. who ever said racing heads up is easy is crazy. . tired as hell just got home from running the finals after 11 last night and drove straight though (16 hrs). but it was well worth the trip. the number one qualifier went a 4.78 number 2 was 4.79 then a couple of 4.81 cars of 275 drag radials.. WTF!!! no x275 for me.... well maybe a fuel injected 499 with one fogger..

number 1 qualifier was Kevin neal. 4.78 at 149. and both cars in the finals. BBC with one fogger with BIG pills. they are both BES BBC's. I would have to run 52 nitrous jets to keep pace and dont think the pontiac motor would last to long with those in there.

Hey Jeff, my buddies from Texas were the #10 qual in X275 and #11 in another class. Little Orange Mustang from Triangle Speed Shop running a 281 ci mod motor with a single turbo. They had a blast as well. Congrats on the #1 spot in leaf spring. I watched on the net all day Sat and Sunday.

The guy that had the car before them drove it into their shop in 1994, it had 104 miles on it and said make it fast. They said "how much do you want to spend?" He replied, that don't matter....lol They bought the car from him a few years later when he rubbed it up against the gaurd rail....

one of the local boyz qualified no. 8 in one of the 275 classes. He has a silver nova with turbo. I believe he qualified with a 5.30 ish. My poncho buddy went with him and tried to advise him to leave the tune alone, but he got greedy and added more power. Needless to say, he blew the tires off first round.

I wouldn't be scared of the 52 jet....just have to work into it like a cold swimming pool...everyone talks about head gasket problems with that much power, but I guess I have been lucky so far. I ain't hitting no 52 jet though, YET

Jeff, the bigger question is... Did you get a chance to try some of Puddin's world famous Pudding? It really is good!
They also cook up a huge feast for the racers. (Donald plays an A$$ on the net, but is a good guy in person) |
