Which prompts a question....

Would it be possible to gift the prize to another member here? The reason I ask is that a number of us on the board who post regularly are relatively close and can/will easily drive and would be going regardless of winning. However, there are a number of members here who have had very difficult years, health, job, home & family wise who would not likely go unless they were to win, or be gifted the award.

So, regardless of who wins, can the award be gifted to another member by the winner?

I was thinking about this, I would gift it to another member. Its about a 40 minute ride for me. And whats the point in staying in a hotel when I can sleep in my own bed?

I would think gifting it to someone is the kindest thing I've read. There are some people here who are really struggling, unemployed, personal loss, medical fights, etc.

I only enjoy car shows if my car is there. Otherwise, I just spend too much time missing it. If I were to win, Id find another member who would enjoy it. As much as I would love to go, there are others that might NEED a trip like this.

I'd most likely donate mine if I were to win, as my health and business obligations will most likely prohibit me from making it anyway.

Still nothing from Steve (dm fan), nor CCass concerning this question . . .

We will not allow the winner to give away the prize because that could involve "selling" it to someone not even a member of the boards.

While I agree that it would be kind, we just have to cover ourselves.

If the winner does not want it, the prize will then go to the runner-up.

A very nice gesture. If something like this were to happen, there would be two winners. You'd get the cash, free entry, royal treatment etc etc, and we'd also pick another winner.
We're hoping that anyone that wins and can't make it, will notify us immediately and allow us to pick someone else.

Very noble gesture,Chris
