Slow,
Yes all is looking good with that chamber Thanks for contributing. What are the valve sizes? Any cross-section areas or flow numbers? |

All I will say right now is it far exceeds any flow numbers that have been posted so far in this thread.

As far as results... its doing OK much has to do with learning curves and budgets and of course perceptions. I think we have all seen examples of all the right pieces and yet somehow someone gets less than expected results while others are getting good results with same pieces. Certain "talk" good or bad may help ego's but does nothing for development of anyones favorite brand cylinder heads. As far as finding problems... Bad habit I guess. Thats what I got paid to do for over 35 years. That included finding ways to resolve problems. At some point if you see something that might be problematic or simply could be done better do you sit on the sidelines and do nothing, or do you see if a revision may be a consideration? However I may come across, my criticisms are generally intended to be constructive. (Hey I'm no more perfect than anyone else here. I need no reminders of where I've been less than constructive. ) Constructive criticism is good. Ill spirited and vendictive criticism that some spew is destructive for ALL of us. I'm NOT an Edelbrock head hater! (or any other for that matter) Way back it was like we had to wait for everyone else before Pontiac got any attention from Edelbrock. Then while they continued with new developments for other brands, for years(decades?) we Pontiac lovers just kind of got put on hold again. So... now, finally, some new stuff and there are things there that dont have to be the way they are... unless we let them think we'll take it anyway and fix things ourselves like we always seem to end up doing. Personally I'd rather not invest in labor to work around something so I could "get by", if it could have been addressed at the manufacturing level. ANY product. |

Discussion is now open.
Feel free to contribute if you have first-hand experience with the head being discussed, otherwise stay out of this thread. |

... how are you coming coming with your shape Jim ?? ... i really like the look of the oval entry, i was wondering what % you are at on your secondary choke point with the oval entry ?? ... i wanted to experiment with ours with that entry depending on what it does to the choke ... i would expect it to be around .350-.400 less in CSA compared to it being a squared entry ... also does the Victor look like it will line up to the entry you have ?? we dont have one in the shop for me to compare, so i figured i'd ask you ...

Progress is forward on this set. Entry size in head now will allow me to port the Victor and fit/align without welding. It would be great if the Tiger intake would physically fit. From what I understand at this point the intake flange (on head or manifold or both) will require milling to install. IMHO the Tiger has enough area to take advantage of the predicted head flow.
Wade, Any update on the BOP manifold you mentioned a few weeks ago? |

Don't know if anyone cares but here are some pics of a 11 degree pro port next to half a HP head.

Does the 11º intake bolt holes look a little too high to use a standard Pontiac intake?

Not if the intake face actually sits closer to block center. The intake face placement relative to the head bolts would determine that. It would still bolt up but sit higher off the valley if the faces end up further inboard and higher than the other head.

Looks like they have actually changed the angle that the valve cover sits on to get more meat to raise the intake ports. Seems like that kind of mods would cause NHRA eyebrows to raise. Are these heads approved?

I doubt these heads are ment or approved for any class like stock or SS

What I do see is the location for the bolt on the water crossover -- looks like they moved them all up - including that one - -but left the water hole in the standard location - HMMMMMMMMM

eah,and the water hole is almost to low to seal where the casting breaks on an angle at the bottom.

im going to "assume" its threaded and will require the use of a fitting and hose???

If not threaded just one more thing to do. I dont think anyone is going to worry if it cant take a factory crossover.
