Default Armed robber shot at Indy Kroger store

An armed robber was shot at a Kroger store in Indy, by an armed employee.

Jeremy Atkinson, 26 of Indianapolis, died after he was wounded inside the store on Indianapolis' Northwestside. Police say they suspect he was trying to rob the store and was shot in the face by an employee about 6 p.m. He was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said.

This employee should be congratulated for protecting another employee and the customers in the store at the time.

Bringing handguns onto company premises violates State and Federal law

And sued. But someone with big money and who is a pro gun/gun rights advocate and wants to make a stand for him should step in to expense his case if so.
Will the union step up for him on his employment?

I'm sure the family will say he was a good guy who was starting to turn his life around. Just needed money to pay off his dealer so his kids could eat......

Better yet, if he is sued. Talk to the local Federal Prosecutor about Extortion and Racketeering charges for the family bringing the suit and the lawyer representing them. A criminal activity of pay me now or pay me later is illegal.

It is a shame that to have to fight for the right to protect yourself. While criminals and the families of criminals can sue with ease. Once this story goes national, that persons wont have a problem finding another job. Once people wake up and realize we live in a dangerous society we'll then get serious about very harsh punishment for violent criminals and less restrictive gun laws.

Even in VA, the most pro-gun state in the Union, this guy could be convicted of murder. In order to shoot someone this way you must be in mortal danger yourself. At least here.

It is conceivable that if he asserted that he was in the act of arresting the guy or apprehending him while he was committing a felony he could get away with it, but as a civilian outside your home you are typically not permitted to shoot people who do not pose an immediate threat to your life.

Just sayin' know what the laws in your state are before you get all cowboy like that.

Robbing a Kroger WTF anyway?
